ANALYSIS OF 3 DIGIPAKSANEEKA PEART

WHAT ARE DIGIPAKS?

Digipaks help to promote the artist and they are very similar to CD's however they are more appealing to true fans and can be considered as collectable items, in a sense they are similar to vinyl records.

They have a very clean cut and use a sense of synergy.

DIGIPAK 1: TINIE TEMPAH - DISC-OVERYThis Digipak consists of one consistent font that the target audience would expect to see this in music videos if there was any font present and

also in the promotional advertisement . After watching one of the music video from the digipak "Frisky" and straightaway we notice the colour palate of blue's red's/pink's and therefore

reminds the audience of the digipak and the remaining songs on the music production. Also there is synergy within costume: black jacket

and the sunglasses which makes the promotional package more effective.

He has followed the conventions of having the artist name bigger than any other information

which makes it the first thing we see as the audience.

A Plain CD but still within the colour palate and font followed through.

DIGIPAK 2: JESSIE J - WHO YOU ARE

This digipak is very simple and will make it easier for the artist to break the conventions throughout her music video's as she kept a

simple colour palate of black, white and gold which could be any individual trademark for the artist. She has used two fonts and had done this

effectively as it distinguishes the artist away from other information such as track listing etc.

After watching her music video "Who You Are" I noticed how the music video is simple just like

her digipak and she has her signature hair which is consistent throughout all the songs. Her costume does not match the image used

however irt does relate to the collour palate as she is wearing black and white.

Again her name is the biggest font on the digipak and the album name is less ovbious

which is key for an up and coming artist.

DIGIPAK 3: CHERYL COLE - ONLY HUMAN

This is a recent digipak from the british pop artist Cheryl, this is different to the others i have

looked into as she is already an established artist her name is

smaller than the other two I have looked into however there is a common font and the colour

palate of grey, brown/gold and white which the audience would

expect to see throughout all promotional artwork and also in

one of the music videos. This again is a simple digipak which will make it easier for the artist

to break the conventions of syngergy within the music videos

etc.
