Before even opening that design software, you need to identify the purpose of your brochure. If you know why you’re having a brochure, it will be easy enough to draw a design concept and execute it.



Brainstorm ideas with other people and always put your ideas on ink and paper first before doing to your computer.



Once you have a concept in place, it’s time to assemble your pictures and write your copy. You might know this but the key to a great brochure is, really, a great copy that blends well with the picture.



If you need to hire a professional copywriter, do so. Also, do not scrimp on the images because it really makes a difference in how effective your brochure is going to be. If you’re not able to stretch your budget for a photo shoot, at least find stock pictures that look great.



When it comes to the actual design, stick to what works. Helvetica and Rockwell are good fonts to use. Design for your readers and not for yourself. If the brochure is going to be made in response to inquiries on your website, design it in such a way that readers would be compelled to know more about your company once they open it.
