Explore the fascinating fusion between the virtual and the real.

The GOLDWELL Futuretec Collection reflects visions of the future, underlining two very different

influences: virtual architecture and ecological involvement. The Futuretec Collection is about new ways

of thinking that are consequently revealed in two new trends with progressive designer looks.

The fusion of virtual worlds and reality creates a fascinating look inspired by modern technology and medieval spirituality. Vibrant colors

of silver-grey, pastel violet, ice blue and subtle metallic effects upgrade every hairstyle and add a mystical touch to the here and now.

The influence of virtual worlds is also expressed in metallic make-up and high tech clothing materials.

Page 3: Trend zoom step by step

03

The ingenious mixture of an ecological statement with a cosmopolitan lifestyle reveals an unconventional urban look.

Modern natural shades, which are intensive and vivid, are inspired by Mother Earth. Characteristic colors are rich, earthy

browns, multi-dimensional copper and powdery sandalwood tones. These shades combine the desire for making a fashion

statement, while maintaining a natural appeal.

The color intensity of the make-up and the visionary design of the clothing express a connection with nature coupled with

a cosmopolitan style.

Page 4: Trend zoom step by step

04

In the Futuretec Collection – pure and virtual as well as authentic and natural color schemes have been used.

Virtualist

Color shades that have been especially designed for the Virtualist

trend show a high quality and pure, clear background foundation

color with virtual, translucent accents. Pastel color graduations of

smokey grey and progressive silver, soft violet tones through to ice

blue shimmers give blonde and brown backgrounds a mystical,

virtual haze with a new metallic touch.

Ecopolitan

A colorful, rich and yet natural color play made up of warm and

cool natural tones. Earthy brown, intensive gold, multi-dimensional

copper and sandalwood characterize this trend. The strong and

authentic background foundation color is portrayed by the skillful

placement of color details, especially developed for this trend. The

result is a combination of cosmopolitan style with

confident casualness and positive spirit.

Page 5: Trend zoom step by step

The size and placement of the Eyelets is according to the desired effect,

individual head shape and the density of the hair. They can be:

• small to large

• single or multiple

• linked to form chains.

Slices1 are used throughout using single or multi-formula color schemes

inside the Eyelets with scalp-to-ends application and diffusion techniques.

Background Foundation: Strength and clarity are created by the background

foundation color in both worlds to create a platform and solid color

structure.

Virtualist: For the puristic, translucent yet bold look, the background

foundation color is clear and perfect. Textureless, unbroken surfaces and

flawlessly smooth, even results for highly reflective pure light or dark

backgrounds.

Ecopolitan: The background foundation color supports intense, textured

details that burst to the surface – rich, earthy platforms, intense and lush

in their naturalness giving forth harmonious accents.

Within the distinctly different worlds, an outstanding common theme reveals

itself reflecting:

• visionary architectural structures which are impacting buildings, furniture

and design today and into the future.

• progression from hard edges and sharp geometric shapes to harmonious,

natural curved forms.

The color concept utilizes curved, organic shapes as the basis for sectioning –

architectural eye-like windows (Eyelets) that open the color detailing.

Virtualist: The Eyelets combined with the color schemes, patterning and

slicing application method promote interior coloring and haze effects within

the organic styles.

Ecopolitan: The Eyelets expose and bring color texture to the outside

surface. High contrast of depth, light, bolder applications and powerful

nature inspired color schemes inside the Eyelets create pronounced

and dramatic color texture effects.

KEY DESIGN ELEMENTS:

sectioning: The Eyelets are intrinsic for all color designs and are positioned

strategically according to the haircut design and client‘s individual head

shape and features.

Eyelet sectioning is very easy and allows pre-planning the placement of the

color detailing. Eyelets are integral to create seamless, melting effects and

offer versatile and creative design options.

pure trend, these shades also seem to come from another world: pastel tones

with futuristic effects invite you to indulge in a virtual world.

A pastel virtual mauve and a progressive virtual silver create an outstanding aura.

Elumen:

The mixing recommendations for the extraordinary reflections of metallic grey

The Futuretec Collection shows the perfect interplay between color and cut.

The key to this concept, inspired by armors and helmets is clear,

round forms – precise, compact, perfectly smooth and polished.

Important characteristics are:

• individual, disconnected sections

• round, organic silhouettes with architectural geometric exteriors.

The color concept, color schemes and techniques underline and support

these compact and marvelous styles.

Page 9: Trend zoom step by step

These styles reflect the naturalness and texture in a dynamic movement. Focus is

on customized, individual styles created through a newly-developed, graduated

cutting technique – the 70/30 cutting method.

This technique involves the point-cut-technique. Point-cut 70% of the hair in one

section and leave the remaining 30% of the hair the same length in the same sec-

tion. This ratio can also be reversed where 30% of the hair is cut much shorter and

70% is only cut slightly.

Section the Eyelets (1 to 3) as shown in the diagram. Start in the center back section, cut an upward curved guideline with the longest points behind the ears. Graduate the hair in this section by elevating very slightly to the guideline. Clean up the hairline.

Start in Eyelet 1 using the back-to-back foiling technique. Slice slightly diagonally and apply alternating formulas (b) Colorance 9PV + Colorance Clear and (c) Colorance 9BN + GG Mix.

In Eyelet 2 proceed to apply alternating formulas (b) Colorance 9PV + Colorance Clear and (c) Colorance 9BN + GG Mix in the same way as done in step 3.

Cut the hair of section above by directing to the guideline to create a soft bob-line, elevating only slight-ly. Connect the sides allowing the curvatureto become longer at the front.

Adjust all hair at the back and sides to the curved guideline shape. The elevation determines the amount of graduation.

Blow-dry completely. Take fine sections and cut the fringe into an organic, asymmetric shape. Start at eye-level and continue longer at the side. Do not connect the long end with the side. Then start with a vertical section at the back to connect the graduation, work parallel to the head shape radiating around the head and pivoting from the top of the head.

Repeat the alternating pattern in Eyelet 3. Place a connecting slice between Eyelet 1 and 3 and apply formula (b) Colorance 9PV + Colorance Clear to it.

Finally connect the length at the back with the fringe. Work from the shortest to the longest point at the front. Work all sections by radiating and pivoting from the top of the head and over-direct all sections to the short guideline maintaining length and asymmetrical shape. Cross check.

Apply the background foundation formula (d) Colorance 10GN to the rest of the hair. Process for 20 minutes without heat. Rinse and shampoo with Colorglow[IQ] Color Cleanse SHAMPOO. For the optimum finish apply Colorglow[IQ] Color Finish SERUM Full Blonde.

For the optimum styling result the creative team recommends Barbora use GOLDWELL Styling Flat Marvel and Spun Shine.

Start at the back of the head and apply the two background foundation formulas (c) Topchic 10A + Blonding Cream Ash and (d) Topchic 10P as follows:

Create layers at the back of the head by graduating vertically. The shortest point of the graduation is at the highest point of the head. Radiate all sections by pivoting off the top of the head and cutting parallel to the curve of the head shape.

Start with Eyelet 1 using the back-to-back foiling technique, slicing horizontally and apply formulas (a) Elumen AB@9 + Elumen Clear + NA@2, (b) Topchic 8AS, (c) Topchic 10A + Blonding Cream Ash and (d) Topchic 10P as follows:

Repeat the pattern until Eyelet 1 is completed.

Proceed in the front with Eyelet 2 in the same way as in step 3.

Blow-dry the fringe using a comb. Sub-section the fringe using approx. 1/2 inch sections parallel to the hairline. Divide with a center part. Starting from the corner of the eye, cut following the natural arch to the bridge of the nose. Repeat on other side.

Blow-dry the sides and create another concave line using the side of the mouth as the guide. Leave the sides disconnected from the back and the fringe.

Determine the final length using the deep-point-cutting technique. Cross check.

Repeat the procedure for Eyelets 3 and 4.

Process for 30 minutes without heat. Rinse and shampoo with Colorglow[IQ] Color Cleanse SHAMPOO. For the optimum finish apply Colorglow[IQ] Color Finish SERUM Full Blonde.

tip: To balance different structures for an even color result, from scalp to ends, apply Colorglow[IQ] Structure EQUALIZER to each section before applying the color.

For the optimum styling result the creative team recommends Ingvild use GOLDWELL Styling Flat Marvel and Spun Shine.
