Australia to host 2019 World Engineer’s

Australia has secured the right to host the 2019 World Engineer’s Convention in Melbourne. 

Engineers Australia has a membership of about 100,000 members and had launched an 18 month long campaign for the bid of the four-yearly convention.

  

They beat rivals, the UAE Society of Engineers in a secret ballot at the World Engineers Summit held in Singapore on Saturday.

According to a report in the Business Review Weekly, Engineers Australia President Marlene Kanga has mentioned that site visits around Melbourne and Geelong for new engineering will be on the cards.

Site visits to these facilities will expose new engineering techniques such as advanced manufacturing, additive manufacturing and nano-technology.

The convention is expected to attract around 4000-5000 delegates
