Masthead - It is enlarged and in different writing to the rest of the text. It is in front of the main image which is a common convention of a music magazine.

Text – The text is justified to the side which is a common convention of a music magazine.

Release date/Bar code – These are used as a common convention of a magazine as all magazines need them.

Slogan – This is used to get the audience interested in the magazine which is a common convention of a pop music magazine.

Selling Line – The selling line for this magazine is also the footer of the magazine which intrigues the audience to buy the magazine as it advertises inside gifts which is a common convention of a music magazine.

Main Image – The main image is the main feature of the magazine and she has a happy look which is a common convention of a music magazine as it illustrates that the magazine is joyful and happy.

Super Smiler – The image uses a super smiler. A wide open smile with teeth showing this makes the model look happy and gives of a good vibe, this is a common convention of a music magazine.

Other Images – these give an insight into what the inside of the magazine contains which interests more readers.

Mode of address – The tone of language is colloquial, friendly and down to Earth so that it attracts the readers attention so that they can sell their magazine to their target audience.

Pull Quotes – This is a quote that has been used from inside the article which attracts the target audience and gives them an insight as to what is inside the magazine.

Cover Line – the cover line is the main article within this magazine. This is the largest writing on the page to illustrate that this is the main story which attracts the readers attention.

Colour Scheme – the magazine has used four different colours which are, black, pink, white and yellow. It is common for a music magazine to use 4 colours.

Masthead – This is the largest font on the page and it is took from the masthead on the cover page.

Photographs – On the contents page there are a various amount of photographs on the page this is used so they can navigate the readers to where they need to be and the largest image is of the main article within the magazine. Front Cover – the front cover has been used on the contents page to allow the magazine to have the information from the front cover instead of writing them out again so that they have enough room for other information on this page. This creates a direct link between the cover and the contents page.

Editors Letter – This is a common convention of a music magazine as this allows the audience to get involved in the magazine by contacting the editor and this also allows then to get an idea of how the main artist is chosen.

Headings/Subheadings – this allows the readers to find pages within the magazine easier. These are written in bold writing to highlight their importance on the page.

Page Numbers – these are used to navigate readers around the magazine so they can just skip to the page that they want quickly. The numbers which are highlighted suggest that they are the most important things within the magazine.

The Main Image – the image in the middle would have been the image used on the front cover and it is significantly larger than the others which suggests that this is the main focus of this issue.

Buttons – these are used to highlight important parts on the page and it instantly grabs the readers attention.

Banner – this banner consists of many different pictures that have poster on them which interests the reader to take a look at them.

Website/Page Number – this is a common convention of a music magazine and this allows the reader to go online and look at more information about the magazine.

Language – the language used on the cover of this magazine is quite formal however some informality is used to address their readers so that it relates to the target audience.

Masthead – The mast head is also used as a pulling quote as it is part of the actual article. It is the largest font on the page and stands out against the rest which is a common convention of a music magazine.Straplines – the strapline is in bold writing and will have the artist name in it and it gives an insight into what the article is actually about.First Letter- the first letter of the article is highlighted and in a larger font to the rest of the article. This automatically brings the readers attention to the beginning of the article so that they will continue to read it which is a common convention of a music magazine.

Main Image – the image is in the centre of the page and is the largest image on the page which makes it clear that it is the main image and takes up most of the room on the page which is a common convention of a music magazine.

Artists Name – this is to clarify who the main article is about and involves them within the page which is a common convention of a music magazine.

Side Bar – this is used to allow extra information about the artist and it also tells the readers different information about them that has not already been said in the article which is a common convention of a music magazine.Subscribe/Website – this is used to allow readers to go on the website and find out more information on the artist and it allows them to subscribe to their channel to find out new information which is a common convention of a music magazine.

Main Article - the article is set out in columns and important words or information is highlighted which shows their significance to the article and the article only takes up one page. This is a common convention of a music magazine.

Other Images - there are other pictures of the artist on the page, this is usually used to fill up the extra room on the page which is a common convention of a music

magazine.

The Way I’ve Used Forms and Conventions!

Masthead: I followed the typical convention of a music magazine by making the masthead and enlarger over the other writing on the page and also it is in different writing.

Strap lines: The strap line for my magazine was used to illustrate the issue number and date, this may appeal to my target audience as it allows them to keep the magazines in a chronological order and they will be able to if they have missed any issues of the magazine.

Buttons: The button my music magazine are used to advise the competition that takes place in this particular issue. The shape of the button grabs the audiences attention as they are different from the rest of the magazine especially with the bright colours. They are usually set on either side of the model head in order to get the readers eyes to gaze at them. The magazine that I have took inspiration from doesn’t use buttons, therefore I challenging the conventions of a real music magazine.

Slogan: This attracts the readers attention as it is catchy and sticks in the readers head. This is a common convention of a music magazine. Price: The price on my magazine has been displayed under the masthead of my magazine which is where they are usually placed. I have shown the price of my magazine due to the fact that it is of amazing value and it quite cheap compared to other music magazines which attracts the readers to buy the magazine over any others.

Main Image: The main image on the cover of the magazine is the largest and it is the centre of the page which is a common convention of a magazine. The model has a happy look on her face and this suggests that my magazine if fun and happy for the readers to enjoy.

Barcode: I used a barcode within my music magazine as it is a common convention for all magazines therefore it was essential that I applied one of these onto my magazine cover.

Cover line: The cover line I usually the main article within the magazine and I have used this as it is a common convention within a music magazine.

Other Images: Other images on my cover are used to give an insight into what else is within my music magazine which is a common convention of a music magazine. Footer: Footers are used to allow the magazine to share more information within the magazines. I have used a footer on my magazine because it again challenges the conventions of the real magazine I have took inspiration from as they didn’t use a footer on their magazine.

Pull Quotes: This is a quote that has been took from within the inside of the magazine, I used this as it is an extremely common convention within a magazine.

Websites: Websites are used within the cover of magazines to allow their readers to go online and find out more information about that issue of the magazine. I have used this again the challenge the conventions of a real magazine as the one I took inspiration from didn’t uses this convention.

Colour Scheme: All magazines have a colour scheme that is related to the issue of the magazine and they usually use four different colours, therefore I have used four different colours myself, which are light green, pink, purple and white. I did this so again followed the common conventions of a music magazine.

Mast Head: The masthead is took from the front cover which instantly links the cover with the contents page. I did this as it’s a common convention of a music magazine.

Title of the Page: On my magazine the actual title of the page is contained in a strapline which is a new convention for the magazine.

Front Cover: The front cover is usually placed on the contents page so that the information from the front cover can be transferred onto the contents page so that it doesn't need to be written out again. I used this as it is again a common convention of a magazine. Main Image: The main image is usually in the middle and it will usually be the same artist who was on the front cover, this suggests that it is the main focus of the magazine. I utilised this technique as it is a common convention of a magazine. Photographs: Various amongst of photographs are used within the contents page, this is used so that the readers can be navigated to that page instantly and I have again used this technique. Page Numbers: Used to navigate readers so they ca just skip to that page within the magazine. The numbers with images suggest that they are the most important thing within the magazine. I have again used this technique.

Artists Name: This is to clarify who the main article is about and involves them within the page, it also makes the artist look fun and exciting due to the way it is portrayed.Mast Head: The mast head of an article page is usually a pulling quote, therefore I have used this within my magazine as it is a common convention of a music magazine. It is also the largest writing on the page and it is bold to highlight the start of the article.

Pulling Quote: This is usually a quote that has been used within the article to give an insight into what is within the article so that the readers will become interested in what the article is about.

Main Image: The image is in the centre of the page and is the largest image on the page which makes it clear that it is the main image and takes up the full page which is a common convention of a music magazine as it shows us who the article is about, therefore I have applied this to my magazine.

Strapline/Article: As this is an opening page to the article the writing on the page is known as the strap line that gives the readers an insight into what the main article is about, most music magazines don’t use this convention therefore I am bringing something new to music magazines.

Subscribe/Website – This is used to allow readers to go on the website and find out more information on the artist and it allows them to subscribe to their channel to find out new information. It is also usually next to the page number of each page. I also applied this to my magazine.

References: These are used in order to show the readers who have written the article and took the pictures. This is a common convention of a magazine therefore I have used this approach within my magazine.

In my case it is used to bring the readers eyes to the beginning of the article. This convention challenges the real magazine as this is not used within their article page.

Subscribe/Website – This is used to allow readers to go on the website and find out more information on the artist and it allows them to subscribe to their channel to find out new information. I also applied this to my magazine.

Main Article - The article on the page is usually set out into columns in order to fit more information into them. They are also set out in this format as it looks like there is less to read, so the readers are more likely to spend their time reading the article which allows the magazine to get more readers. I have used and applied this method to my magazine in order to follow the common conventions of a music magazine, however I do not have highlighted words within the text and this is usually another common convention of a magazine.
