There are many challenges to achieving good governance and sustainable WASH services such as institutional, financial, infrastructure , operational, etc.

of sustainable WASH services• Insufficient finance and poor cost recovery• Poor monitoring and absence of regulatory

framework

WASH governance challenges

• Inadequate mechanisms for participation and accountability resulting in lack of transparency

• Lack of mechanisms for communication and participation

• Weak institutional capacity especially at the local level

This WASH governance training programme attempts to deal with many of these governance challenges.
