NME MAGAZINE

About NME MagazineNME (New Musical Express) is a music magazine which was first issued on the 7th of March 1952. Each week there is a new issue of NME released, which attracts the attention of thousands of buyers. In the 1970’s, NME became the best-selling music magazine. NME mainly focuses on the style of punk rock music, which doesn’t suit everyone but it does suit quite a large majority, especially teenagers of that style etc.

NME has its own website which is updated regularly with new music and images.

Why I chose this magazineNME magazine suits quite a lot of people as it doesn’t just repeat the latest news and music in every issue. The magazine is always professional looking and the images and colour attract the thousands of buyers with every issue. The magazine is always presented in the correct way to attract buyers, for example, the image used is always made to be the main focus, which grabs the buyers attention as they are not buying the magazine to read huge amounts, they are interested in the image just as equally.

NME over the years

NME Magazine AnalysisThe yellow text stands out against the dull background colour (eye catching)

This member of the group is in the centre of the page and also the main one in the image which indicates that he may be the band leader.

Each member of the group is looking directly at the camera (direct mode of address) which indicates that there is a sense of seriousness.

The background colour used is a very dull colour which may be because of the band name ‘The Horrors’ so the publishers may have thought this was an appropriate way to convey the band.
