Why are we here?• VDOT Summer repaving includes Kingstowne Village

Parkway. Project limited to restriping existing pavement.– Kingstowne Village Parkway from Beulah Street to South Van

Dorn Street is scheduled to be repaved

• Opportunity to improve vehicular safety, improve traffic flow, add bicycle facilities, improve pedestrian safety– Beulah Street to Hayfield Road

• Low to no cost for the County

Road Diets• Removing travel lanes from a roadway and reallocating

the space for other uses

• Rule of thumb: Roads with less than 20,000 vehicles per day don’t need four travel lanes

• Kingstowne Village Parkway: 5,300 vehicles per day

Fairfax County’s first Bicycle Master Plan was adopted by the Board of Supervisors on October 28, 2014.
