The political intrigue on the George R.R. Martin television hit may be all about the men ruling over Westeros, but that doesn’t mean the women don’t have their fair share of power.
Anyone who bathes in fire and
devours a horse heart like it’s
chicken meat is worthy of
being one of the fiercest
women on Game of Thrones.
She may be the wife of a
barbarian warlord, but she’s
not one to rely on any man.
Played by the sizzling Emilia Clarke, Daenerys is known to be the mother of dragons, and honestly, no other person—man or woman—can top that.
Ever the sly one, Cersei Lannister is connivance personified. She has no mercy, no shame, and won’t take anybody’s crap.
Her brutality and incestuous nature make her the authoritative power everyone should be wary of, and Lena Headey has that part down to a T.
The Red Priestess Melisandre of Asshai believes that Stannis Baratheon is the chosen one to rule over Westeros, and to get what she wants, she’s willing to do anything.
Played by Carice Van Houten, this wily woman will employ anything to get what her heart desires, and bloodletting and seduction are no exception.
Endlessly cunning and seductively sexy, MargaeryTyrell wants the throne for her own, and she wants it bad. Her shrewdness prompts even the Queen Regent Cersei Lannister to despise her and secretly fear her.
The woman that Natalie Dormer brings to life so well is no doubt an unstoppable threat to the current state of power.
If facing off against a bear doesn’t land you a spot as one of the toughest women on Game of Thrones, then we don’t know what will.
Brienne of Tarth is one of the bravest and most honorable knights in the land, and she does not let her gender stop her from dealing some serious pain against anyone who crosses her path.
“Kissed by fire”, Ygritte (as played brilliantly by Rose Leslie) knows that a woman can be sexy and strong at the same time.
Her exceptional archery skills have proven useful in battle countless times, and her skills of seduction have ensnared Jon Snow as well.
There’s a reason why people say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. Arya Stark is not even close to looking menacing on the outside, but underneath her innocent exterior lies the heart of a champion.
Her independence and headstrong attitude helped her survive the streets, making her one of the most awesome women on Game of Thrones. Mistaken for a boy, she is trained in swordfighting, and is brutal when she needs to be.
She slits the throat of a guard while fleeing from Harrenhal, and she whispers, “Valar Morghulis” which means “All Men Must Die.”
