The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific: East and North-East Asia Office (UN ESCAP-ENEA) is looking for photographs that capture the economic, social and environmental issues facing the Northeast Asian region. The call for visual contributions aims to find powerful images that can help convey ENEA's objectives, as well as inspire action and help raise awareness of the issues affecting the region. "As we continue to improve development cooperation in Northeast Asia, we hope to receive outstanding images that will help us reach out to more people and communities and inspire them to remain committed to the important role that multilateralism can play in promoting UN's core values," said Kilaparti Ramakrishna, Director of ENEA Office. The submission period runs from 8 January 2014 through 28 February 2014. Contributors from any country, both amateur and professional, are highly encouraged to submit up to three images electronically. Photographs will be used for a range of publicity materials and a selection will be posted in a digital gallery on ENEA's website and shared via social media. Some might also be shared globally through the United Nations network. Full credit for the contribution will be provided in all forms of publication. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Suggested Image Themes Economic issues: trade, transport, unemployment, poverty reduction, development Social issues: youth, gender equality, ageing, disability, international migration Environment issues: climate change, nature conservation, air pollution, urban environment, energy General Conditions And Technical Specifications The submission is open to any resident in any country, both amateur and professional. Each contributor may submit up to three photographs along with a completed consent form. Download Form Submission should be made no later than 11:59 pm KST (2:59 pm GMT), 28 February 2014. Submission should be sent to [email protected] with the subject line "Photo contribution." When sending a photograph from a mobile phone, ideally use the email function and send it to the above address. By submitting photographs, you agree to the following conditions: the photos are your original work you own full copyright to photographs submitted you do not infringe any third party's copyrights and have received full permission from the subject(s) for the photographs, and have obtained any and all releases and permissions necessary for our use. Submission in high resolution digital format must be in JPEG (.jpg or .jpeg), 2040 pixels wide, 300 dpi and image quality of 10 or higher. Please no PDFs or links to online slideshows.
