Action Items:

From the feedback we collected from participants from speaker presentations:

Value of Research- • Forming an Atlantic research group to share research,

collaborate on projects, host events, etc.• Framework to help commodities fund research through

check-offs SR&ED tax credits, etc.• Increasing support (monetary and HR) for applied research

(e.g. variety trials)• Engagement at industry/commodity level (i.e. research on

every agenda at commodity AGM’s)

oneNS Coalition- • Research into the impact of doubling research dollars and

partnerships on the economy (specifically for Agriculture) to see correlation between the goals and actual impact.

• Collaborating with academic institutions who are doing agricultural research to have open house events

• Open Farm days for research• Farmer led sessions on research needs with academic

institutions (Hort NS hosted and event in March 2015 which could be replicated among commodities and universities)

• Forming a KTT or KMb working group, committee or community of practice

Knowledge Mobilization- • Forming a KTT or KMb working group or committee• Survey of industry to identify current situation of knowledge

transfer• Funding for Knowledge Transfer (video creation, fact sheets,

website, research days, meetings
