• Coca-Cola India was established as the Indian subsidiary of
the US-based Coca-Cola Company (Coca-Cola) in 1993.
• Keeping in mind the fact that it was one of the largest beverage
companies in India, Coca-Cola India said it had made CSR an
integral part of its corporate agenda.

• The company used large amounts of water and energy in its
beverage production and tons of packaging material for its
products, it had taken up several initiatives to act as a
responsible company and reduce its environmental impact.
• In addition to water, energy, and sustainable packaging, Coca-
Cola India also focused on several community initiatives in
India as part of its social responsibility initiatives.

CSR INITIATIVES
WATER:
• Conserve Water.
• Watershed protection, rainwater harvesting projects
• 110 recharge shafts that collected rainwater. Reverse
filter system.
ENERGY:
• Reducing energy consumption and emission of GHGs
by such as refrigeration.
• GHG emission reduced by three-fourths.
• Increase the energy efficiency of its equipment by 40 to
50%.

HEALTH:
• Provided health checkups, medicine, and education to
rural communities on health-related topics
• Also funded polio eradication camps
• In a few districts, coca cola conducted camps for
Hepatitis B vaccinations, eye checkups, and malaria
eradication
PACKAGING AND RECYCLING:
• Packaging framework that aimed at recycling
• Collected the company’s packaging material consisting of
glass bottles, cans, etc. after they were disposed

COMMUNITIES:
• A commitment to the community was part of Coca-Cola
India’s CSR.
• The initiative aimed to curb waterborne diseases
• It set up around 2,000 schools for children.
ECONOMIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Played an active role in providing employment and giving
the community opportunities to expand and grow.
• In 2007, launched an initiative called Parivartan(Change) for training small retailers in India.

AIM: To know what coca cola is doing in their CSR activity.
My Role: Collection of data from villages near by cocacola Brindavan bottler,Lucknow.
OBSERVATIONS
• Large amount of data is being collected for thisCSR.
• I interacted to large number of people in villageswhere coca cola is doing CSR.
• Old people living in the villages are willing toprovide the information asked .

• Women are quite supportive in comparison tomen.
• There are 10 common toilets made by Coca colaBrindavan in near by village for womens.
• Medical checkup for the womens and smallchildren are also conducted by coca cola.
SHORTCOMINGS
• They have not correctly responded to the oldpeople.
• Old people had a complaint that no medical aidwas provided to them ..

WHAT REALLY CSR IS?
• CSR is not merely spending money on the society.
• It strengthens the base of the society.
• Provides an extra hand to the government.

• Earlier thought: A burden.
• New thinking: CSR is necessary.
• CSR brings a lot of goodwill and advertisement.
• The overall CSR spending is increasing as it isgoing to pay in the long run.

IMPACT OF CSR ON SOCIETY
• Increased environment quality of surroundings.

CONCLUSION
Finally, I found out from my activity at the Coca Cola
Brindavan Bottlers, Lucknow was a little contribution from
ourselves in helping the nation help those who have
done their job of developing nation and now require our
help to pass their remaining life with respect and love.
