Our song is a very typical pop song with fast constant beat. video Therefore, we would like to give a positive, joyful vibe when producing this music. To follow through with this we will ensure the artist will be enthusiastic and energetic throughout the video. A way of showing enthusiasm will be performance, therefore there will be parts in our music video where the artist will have a dance routine.

Vibe

Page 3: Concept Pitch

We have had a few ideas of how the feel of the music video can be. For example an idea could be that the artist is trying to get a girl who they think is perfect but is constantly rejected but tries and tries to get her to fall for him. This can act as a amplification in a way as the video has meaning but not so obvious. The meaning is that in this world we will constantly get rejected by many things for instance love, people and jobs but we just have to get back up and keep trying. Therefore we feel this would be a great way in which everyone can relate and feel what the artist goes through in the music video. Or we have a futuristic feel towards the music video which can relate the ‘techno girl’ lyrics.

Ideas and the feel

We have taken some test shots to get a feel of how our music video can start to piece together.

LightingWe have the idea of high key lighting. The reason for this is so that we can easily identify the artist and make him very visible to the audience so we can make it a conventional pop video. Moreover, we would like to use low key lighting but with lasers and neon/strobe lights this would be helpful for our idea of giving our music video a futuristic feel. Furthermore, we have the idea of using spotlights on the artist this is so we can give the artist bright, vibrant look and draw the audience away from the narrative and focus on the artist as we are trying the promote the artist.

CostumeWe are making our artist glamorous and making him stand out from the crowd. He will be colourful and trendy to emphasise his energetic personality. The bright colours also follow the convention of a pop genre music genre. We are also using these types of costumes as not many people wear them so the artist will have his own identity and will be different from the rest. However, some of the costume will be fashionable as it is conventional for a pop artist to wear fashionable clothing at the time the music video was set. This will include bright floral shirts, brightly coloured skinny jeans and more.

LocationWe have the idea of shooting shots around the London eye. This is a very recognisable landmark of London and we can identify the artist as being British. It also gives a bright and joyful atmosphere to the music video. Other locations involve shooting at a bar/sitting area where we can film a bit of the narrative where we have the idea of the artist constantly getting rejected by the girl he likes. Also, we film using a studio, this will be a good location where the artist could perform a small dance routine and show his enthusiasm.

We can use and experiment with the green screen. We can try and get a futuristic background where the artist can perform and this can help us with the idea of giving the music video a futuristic feel. Also we can use it for bright coloured backgrounds and give the music video that typical pop music feel.
