SituationAccording to survey data of the authorities found 25% of families with mental violence; 15% of wives being beaten, nearly 80% were violent verbally, 70% had husbands neglect in family life; 30% of couples have phenomenal sexual coercion called "sexual violence" or forced to give birth in the health of women is not guaranteed, or forced abortion is also considered as a forms of sexual violence.

In Vietnam, domestic violence tends to increase rapidly and no signs of stopping.Situations pointed that : Only 37% of respondents believe that domestic violence is a crime. 77% of the mediation does not work and the violence continues, then the worst case happened.

ReasonReason 1 : Lack of understanding of the law : A man beats his wife because he thought it’s a private family matter unrelated to anyone, no one has the right to intervene.

Reason 2 : Anger: People who have temper often prefer to resolve the disagreement with force. When an impatient husband has argument with his wife, he prefers choosing violence to address issues to doing it by words. The patriarchal husbands, during an argument with his wife, his first reaction was denying what his wife said by violence.

Reason 3 : Addictions: Alcohol or drugs are easy to make people move to violence because it alters the human mind, makes drunken man loses self-control, makes people more brutal and without thinking. When being drunk people will amplify the situation up and turn into violent conflict.

Reason 4 : Stress: When people are stress, they are very easy to explode into violence, then they will have no control over their behavior leads to violence.

Reason 5 : Economy, Gambling: Due to economic difficulties should the couple very easy to conflicts, quarrels. They blame others and raise violence. Marking lost and coming back home to sell furnishings to pay their debts, couple argues and fights

Consequence1. For victims- Have an adverse effect on their mental and physical health as well as their daily lives.- Continuous violence in the family may give birth to its more serious and frequent situation.- Violence may lead to the death.- The victims will get into trouble when they’re trying to provide proof against the person who has the acts of violence to them because of the complications of violence in family.

2. For families- Damage to the family financially.- Damage to family relationships- Reduce women’s working ability- Have bad effect on children- Reduce the quality of life

3. For the community- Reduce the contribution to society of victims.- Increase pressure on the health system.

Solution1. Encourage the victim to speak out. There are not resolved within the family, the victim must be announced to the public authorities, associations known to help protect.2. Set up counseling centers for women abused can find solutions advice, consolation comments addressed.

3. Institutions Law on Domestic Violence Prevention. Mobilize people to implement the content of the movement to build a family culture. Uphold the exemplary role, praised, glorified, replicated the typical case in the movement for the content and form fitting.

We have to stop domestic violence now!
