German Approach in AgBB-Scheme: Fundamentals in Assessment of Chemical

Emissions from Building Products1. assess the toxicological relevance

of all detected single substances

- identify harmless or relevant VOC with help of LCI values

- identify carcinogens

3. limit the total amount of emissions of volatile organic compounds - TVOC, TSVOC

2. limit the unassessable substances (precautionary principle)

• 2010 International expert hearings on Labelling and on LCI, both coordinated by JRC Ispra

• 2011 – 2012 Work on Harmonization of LCI; Results in ECA 29Procedure and consequences presented 12/2012 …

• 2013 – 2015 further work under own steam for EU-LCIs

• 2015 – 2019 mandated by COM DG Growth work for the full listof EU-LCIs as needed for CPRegulation and CE marking
