The single most effective methodology in use today in controlling the generation of respirable asbestos fibres, this system offers more protection to those who work on remove ACM’s from our built environment than the use of RPE.
The correct use of this system has shown that fibre concentrations can be reduced to below the control limit of 0.1f/cm³
Typical Surfactant Formulation
Wet Strip is an aqueous blend of non-ionic and anionic surfactants with a disclosing dye, formulated to produce maximum penetration into the asbestos matrix.
Wet Strip is designed for use in injection machines and can also be applied by spray for local wetting in hard to reach areas or when dry areas are found during removal.
The surfactants in Wet Strip will produce some level of flocculation of loose fibres back onto the matrix but treated areas should be wrapping in polythene to maintainhydration before removal.

The principle purpose of these machines is to create a negative pressured environment to prevent the spread of air born/ respirable fibres.
Fundamental in the control of air born asbestos fibres within a controlled environment, the air extracted by these machines must pass through a High Efficiency Particulate Arrestor before venting.

HS-EM1The Harley Scientific Monitor (HS-EM1) is an instrument which measures air pressure differentials between enclosures placed under negative pressure via NPU’s and the external atmospheric air pressures, maintaining the negative pressure is a requirement of CAR2012 in the UK.
HS-EM1 Constantly monitors and gives real time information equally about the condition of the containment structure and the performance of the NPU’s, detecting variances in the pre-set negative pressure values within the enclosure HS-EM1 will trigger an audible alarm, and is capable of switching on automatically and instantly secondary negative pressure units, without the need of an Operative to intervene.
There is the option for the unit to send text alerts or communicate with other data centres over the internet or Bluetooth. All pressure recorded data is stored internally and can be printed direct from the unit or digitally transferred for processing and storage.
