Swire Cold Storage The issue facing Swire was how to squeeze more efficiency and cost savings from a site that was already energy efficient. As a result of the site analysis a 1000kVA Powerstar unit was installed. This provided a 20v reduction, dropping the voltage from an average 248v to 223v and resulting in a 13% saving on annual electricity consumption, as well as a reduction in CO2 emissions of 490 tonnes.
