Things that went well… Cinematography: We filmed multiple takes of the same setting/person from different cinematography perspectives e.g. high angle, extreme close-up and mid-shot of the rides in Southend. Also, we filmed a great shot of Rosie and Liam hugging whilst standing on the beach with the sunset and the sun’s reflection on the water right behind them. This created a silhouette effect which was very cinematic and will look good in our music video to create a serene and romantic mood that will later be contrasted by darker and more rapidly edited shots. Whilst listening to our chosen song, we realised that there was a repetition of the line “Just let it be” so we decided to film close-up shots of Rosie’s lips wearing lipstick and every time we filmed a new clip we changed the colour of the lipstick. Things that went well…Cinematography: We filmed multiple takes of the same setting/person from

different cinematography perspectives e.g. high angle, extreme close-up and mid-shot of the rides in Southend.

So when we edit our music video these repeated lines will be matched with shots of Rosie’s lipstick colour changing to create a rainbow effect.

Mise en Scene: The bruised make-up look Lydia used on Rosie

looked very realistic and effective when filming. This is important as we need the reaction of the audience to be shocked, sympathetic and intrigued by Rosie’s state at both the beginning and the end of our music video.

The fake blood made up of red food colouring, water golden syrup also looked quite realistic and we poured this on the leaves next to Rosie’s head to portray a strong representation of her death/abuse for the audience.

Lip synching: Since Rosie had previously learnt all of the

lyrics it was easier for us to film the lip-synching shots from different parts of the song.

Also, we filmed a range of lip synching shots of Rosie in each location so we have a choice of which shots we wish to use when it comes to editing our music video.

Weather: We checked the weather the day and the

morning before filming and luckily it was sunny all throughout the day therefore we could successfully film the shots we needed in these good weather conditions and natural lighting.

Motivation & Organisation: All members of our group were very motivated to film

and therefore we spent a lot of time making sure that each shot would be good enough to put in our music video e.g. checking lighting, focus, framing etc.

Also every group member was very organised when it came to filming as we all immediately took on roles such as director, cinematographer, performer etc. However throughout the day these roles became interchangeable as we all began to gave our creative outlook on where and what we should be filming on that day.
