There is nothing more frustrating than investing time in something to be told that you have been on the wrong track, simply because you didn’t ask the right questions of the right people at the right time. For example in 2014 one of the worst business mistakes in history happened at French railway operator SNCF for this very reason. 2,000 new trains were ordered using measurements given to them by the rail operator RFF.
