• Coldbendingisannovelmethodofproducingcurvedglasssurfacesreducingenergyandcosts.
• Globalandlocalinstabilitiescouldoccurduringthebendingprocessleadingtoshapechangesandopticaldistortions.
• However, these instabilitiescanbeavoidedor theireffectcanbeminimized followingauser-friendlysetofguidelines.
• ArtiBicial ageing of glass in a reliable/realistic manner is now possible (re-adjustment ofDIN52348).
• Fully toughened glass exhibits a better long term performance compared to chemicallytoughenedglassandistherefore,moresuitable/safeforcoldbentapplications.
