PAAF ENCOURAGEMENT TO GREENHOUSE GROWERS

Minimum of 20% of the farms total area needs to include a greenhouse.

Direct subsidies are provided to growers by the government through PAAF .

Support is given to farmers through: training courses, technical advice and seminars

Strong collaboration between PAAF and international and regional organizations (ICARDA, FAO, KFAS, KISR, KFAED, KFF & SCPD) to benefit growers .

FUTURE PERSPECTIVES

Family farming in Kuwait is not prominent and the majority of farms designed as family Recreation with no economical consideration .

Through technology transfer and efficient technical advice to growers, production efficiency in terms of quantity and quality could be improved .

Through research on drought and heat tolerant crop strains that are capable to withstand the harsh environmental conditions.
