LIVING AND NON LIVING THINGS

The things we see around us can be divided into two groups, living and non-living.

WHAT ARE LIVING AND NON LIVING THINGS ?

Living things are things around us which are able to eat grow, move, respire or breath as well as excrete. A Non living thing is the opposite of a living thing. These things don’t have the characteristics of living things.

All living things need the ability to move. For example, a girl walking

RESPIREAll living things must be able to

exchange gasses with the atmosphere, which is called respiration. Living things must take in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

ExcreteThis is the removal of waste from the

body. For example your sweat. This is important as waste are harmful.

ReproduceReproducing is the process of giving birth.

A cat gives birth to a kitten and human gives birth to children. Plants reproduce foods.
