DESCRIPTION

Water availability and security is one of the biggest challenges facing the world today. The sea provides an abundance of water, but to be usable, it must be desalinated. 300 million people benefit daily from desalination, but uses a massive amount of electricity. GE ecomagination and Wa'ed, Saudi Aramco's entrepreneurship center, have launched a global open innovation challenge to find more sustainable solutions for seawater desalination.
