Happiness is Just a Positive Thought Away
Positive thoughts aren't just about saying that you love
yourself, like something about someone else, or thinking
something great about the world. Those things are part of
having positive thoughts, but positive thinking starts with
having a good attitude.
The question becomes then, how can you have positive
thinking when you are feeling negative all the time? The
answer is you can’t. So how can you change what you’re feeling when you seem to feel that way all the time?
I was asking myself the same thing when I was going
through my depression. Throughout that time I wondered
how my dad could always have such a positive thinking
and a positive mental attitude. Even when I wasn’t depressed anymore, I wanted to know how he was
consistently happy.
A big part of this was that he had found his passions, but
almost just as big was that he chose to be happy. You
might be thinking, it can’t be that simple. That’s what I said as well, but let me tell you that it works!
I will post another time about discovering passions which
can take some time. Choosing to be happy or any other
emotion though, you can start doing RIGHT NOW!
It doesn’t take much. You don’t have to say it. All you have to do is think it. I choose to be ___ .
If you are skeptical, then just try it IN AN ACCEPTING
MANNER. What do I mean? You need to be willing to try
this with a neutral state. One way to do this is to think
about your desire to be happy is stronger than your desire
to be right. If you truly want to feel positive emotions, you
have to take your ego out of the way and replace it with
your desire.
Once you do this and realize that it will give you a positive
state for a while, then you recognize that maintain that
state is the key. In order to do that you need to keep
increasing that feeling you have chosen.
So how do you keep this state once you achieve it through
your statement? Simple, all you do is ask questions. Ask,
Why am I happy? , When’s a time that I was happy? , How do I feel when I’m happy? . Questions are the key to the universe and of course that includes your happiness.
Be creative! These questions were in no particular order.
Just go with the flow and ask what comes to hear and then
your 30 seconds of happiness turns into 5 minutes and
longer!
Remember: your desired state or attitude becomes more
permanent as you choose to be positive moment to
moment. There are 86,400 seconds in the day and even
more moments. How are you using them. You can choose
to be positive and use what I teach you to keep that state
going. [I’m about to rant]
Yeah it’s going to get repetitive. You’re going to get tired of doing the things you need to, but your desire keeps you
going. Positive thoughts occur over a couple of seconds,
positive thinking is creating by consistently choosing to be
positive. If you decide that it’s too hard or annoying to develop that consistent mental state, then realize that you
will eventually decide to be positive again at some point.
Knowing that, why not just stick with it? Why waste your
time stopping and starting? There is no reason. Keep with
it! I urge you because I spent time going on and off. I
always came back to the same place of desiring to do it
again. I was that person who grew up overthinking and
being negative about everything. If I can overcome and
stick with it, then I KNOW YOU CAN. I BELIEVE IN YOU!
STICK WITH IT.
WHEN YOU GET TIRED, SAY NO I REFUSE TO START AGAIN . SAY I WILL ACHIEVE THIS GOAL OF MINE!
You’re amazing. You’re awesome and you can become the person you wish. I know because you are already it.
You just need to take some time to realize it. Choose
positivity!
