On May 18, 2011, CCF hosted a live webinar for teachers who are interested in applying for the FEDCO Teacher Grant. The grant ranges from $500 - $1000 and is available for K-12 teachers in Cerritos, Culver City, Norwalk-La Mirada, Pasadena, and LA Unified School districts. CCF will be hosting another webinar on June 17, 2011 from 12P.M. - 1P.M.

FEDCO Charitable Foundation

• The FEDCO Charitable fund was established at the California Community Foundation (CCF) in 1999 when the FEDCO chain of stores closed

• The fund was established with more than $7 million

• CCF administers the FEDCO Charitable Fund and coordinates the grant distribution process

Grant Purpose

• FEDCO teacher grants are awarded on a yearly basis to support hands-on, classroom projects or field trips

• Grants range from $500 - $1,000 per teacher

• K-12 teachers teaching in Cerritos, Culver City, Norwalk-La Mirada, Pasadena and Los Angeles Unified school districts are eligible to apply, as well as any charter schools authorized by these school districts

• Grants are to support student academic achievement in language arts, math, science or social studies

• Grant funds may be used for project expenses such as transportation, entrance fees, and/or materials

• Grant funds may not be used for computer hardware, video cameras, digital cameras, or substitute teachers
