DESCRIPTION

Can I get a Big Mac, a Quarter Pounder with cheese, a large fry, and uh diet coke please? How many of us have spoken these very same words just a day or two ago? So many of us flock to fast food chains to consume the “immortal burgers” and French fries that are saltier than seawater. We know it is bad for us. So we try and assuage our guilt by drinking that one diet coke. As if that’s going to make a difference. What makes it so bad is that our cravings for junk has spilled into virtually every aspect of our lives. How many of us engage in a diet of reality television shows? How many of us indulge in gossip? How many of us feed on drama? Then, we try and ease our guilt by reading a couple of inspirational blogs, or spending a half-day at church, or attending some other faith based function. As if that’s going to make a difference. The only real way to cut the junk out of your life is to be inspired. http://youtu.be/qTrfcXw1ors

Let’s keep it real. It feels safe to watch others make complete fools of them selves on national television. You can laugh and ridicule them, talk about them with your friends, follow them

on Twitter.

You can even buy their ghostwritten book when it comes out. Celebrities

are famous for two real reasons. They can engage, or they can

inspire. The celebrities that engage are the ones who flaunt their riches, and their lavish outlandish life-styles

in your face.

They send out the “don’t you wish you were me” message.

Reminding us all of how miserable and empty our lives

can sometimes be. They endorse and sell products that they don’t use or even believe

in

And use editors, publicist, and plastic surgeons to keep them looking good. Why are we so

infatuated with these people? We are infatuated with them because we don’t want to take the risk of living life as carelessly or as free

as we would like to.

These celebrities just feed on our fantasies, robbing us of the

nutrition needed to live our dreams. Their shows and

products are as processed as fast food. They are loaded with preservatives, high in fat, and saturated with corn syrup.

They “weigh” us down. They clog up our arteries and make it difficult for energy to flow. We become so consumed by the

darkness that we can’t “let the sunshine in.” We become

addicts who are badly in need of an intervention.

Then, we see them. They grace our televisions like angels

descending from the heavens. They are the celebrities that have the expression of complete self-

acceptance and renowned confidence.

They give us the inspiration that we need and crave so much. Inspired people show us by

example that the biggest risk in life, is to risk not living at all.

Don’t clog up your life with junk.

And don’t treat your dreams like it is a diet coke.

It is important to understand that the only thing that is real, is following your true calling and

purpose in life.
