• Locate the Transitions. e.g. Welcome, Presentation of Bride by Father, Giving Away Flowers, Message, Vows, Rings, Unity Candle, etc.

• Make Notes in the Margin of Your Ceremony About the Transitions.


Step Five: oMeet With The Wedding Planner and Discuss Details.

• They will be helpful.• Ask Their Preferences.• Ask How Weddings Are Usually Performed in This Venue.


Step Six: oMake A Bullet Point Outline of the Entire Service.

• This Will Help With The Rehearsal.• If There Is A Wedding Planner, She Will Be In Charge of the

• Print This Copy in Booklet Form.• This is 8 x 11 Sheet of Paper Printed in 2 Columns on Both Sides

of Page and Folded to Create a 4 Page Booklet.• In Microsoft Word, click file, print, properties, duplex, booklet.

Step Nine: oMake Notes In The Margin of This Ceremony.

• This Copy Will Go To The Rehearsal.• Do Not Be Afraid To Mark Up This Copy.


Step Ten: oUse The “Red Rubber Band” Method.

• Fold Your Ceremony in Half into a Mini Booklet.• Place Near the Center of Your Bible.• Stretch Into Center of Ceremony and Over Spine. (Paper Won’t

Blow Away)• Hint: Use the Same Method for Special Readings, Mark Margin to

Indicate When to Turn to the Reading.


Step Eleven: oAttend The Rehearsal.

• Find Out Who Is Leading The Rehearsal.• Ask: Where You Come In, Where You Will Stand, What Kind of

Microphone Will You Have, When Will You Exit, If You Are Supposed To Invite People To The Reception?

• Take Notes in Your Margin During The Rehearsal.


Step Twelve: oWedding Day!

• Arrive 30-60 Minutes Early.• Check in with Planner, DJ, Groom, Bride• Ask About License and Rings.• Do A Microphone Check.• Get Alone and Read Ceremony.• After Ceremony, Sign the License, Be Available for Photos, Enjoy,
