Night Sky RingTutorial
made by Kica Bijoux
list of materials
This is the list of materials and tools necessary to make 1 ring.
• I've used oxidized copper to create this ring, but it can be any other wire –brass, copper, silver or gold-filled.
• 30 cm (11.8’’) of 22 or 23 gauge wire (0.6 mm in diameter)
• 1 agate bead – size 6 mm
list of tools
•round-nose pliers
•wire cutters
You will also need a round object to make your ring round –take note that the diameter of the „round” object will be diameter of your ring. You can of course use a mandrel if you have one.
Step 1
Take one piece of 22 gauge wire and put bead on it, then take some object with round diameter (for example pen or
small bottle or mandrel) and wrap wire around it as shown in the photos.
Step 2
Now wrap both wires around the bead (See Diagram).
Wrap as close and tight as you can.
After step 2 your ring should look like this.
Step 3
Now repeat step 2. Wrap wires aroundthe bead once more. (my ring looksgood after 2 wrapsbut you can alsowrap the bead fewtimes more if youthink your ring will look better thatway:)
At this point your ring should look like this:
Step 4
Now wrap the one wire around the base of the ring. Wrap as close to the „eye of the ring” as you can. Then you can wrap it few more
times to make the band look nicer.
Step 5
After step 4 cut the rest of the wire and then repeat the step using other wire and other/left side of ring. Then cut the rest
of it. Remember to smooth the cut edges of the wires – it should not scratch your finger when you will wear the ring.
And the ring is ready to wear!
