A Praying Person

From the ministry prayer time on Mondaymorning, I was shocked to learn our dearbrother Paul Hann went to be with theLord on Lord's day morning. I was verytouched as I heard many wonderfultestimonies from brother Benson, brotherYu, and other serving ones.

The deepest impression I have frombrother Hann is his faithful prayer, hisburden toward China, and his hopetoward the Lord's coming.

In the ministry prayer time every Monday,we usually saw brother Hann being theearliest person to arrive, and sitting onthe same chair. His prayer is alwaysfollowing the flow of the spirit, and isshort and clear. In addition, brother Hannalso joined the weekly prayer time [withthe MSW] with the set time and setburden. He would kneel down with usbefore the Lord for one hour. BrotherHann is the Lord's testimony in his prayerlife.

A Person Full of Burden for China

Brother Hann often comes to the MSWoffice. As I fellowship with him, I learnedthat he is very concerned and well-informed regarding the situation in China.Sometimes I felt short compared to him. Iknow our brother often prayed for thegospel propagation in China.A Person full of Hope of the Lord'sComingIn his conversations, brother Hann wouldoften mention "the Lord will come soon."Not only is this the encouragement from

our brother, but it is also his attitude inhis living. It reminds us to live in the lightof the Lord's coming.

Lord, may You gain more lovers of You,who would love Your appearing, andhasten Your coming back through prayer!

A Faithful Priest

Brother Hann's departure feels like asudden rapture. It has been only twoweeks since I met him at the ITERO, andthe booklet "A Time

with the Lord" given by him is still on mytable. The subject of this training is "TheRecovery of the Priesthood for God'sBuilding." Priests are those who spendtime before the Lord to be filled, saturated, and soaked by God. They arealso those who bring man to God. Iremember brother Hann being such apriest.

Brother Hann is a person who lives beforeGod. We start to know him from hisprayer. In these few years, he oftencomes to MSW office to strengthen ourprayer. He always insists joining us tokneel before the Lord and praydesperately for His interest on the wholeearth. Even though he was old, but hisvoice was clear, his spirit was released, and his prayer would hit the enemy anduplift our corporate prayer. Afterwards, there was a time when we invited him tojoin and strengthen the prayer pursuing, which happens every Saturday at 7 a.m.We brothers all lived close to the meeting

hall, but he lived in another city and hadto drive one hour to get here.Nevertheless, when we rushed to themeeting hall, we always found himwaiting at the door and telling us with joythat he has been spending hours infellowship with the Lord.

A Person who Ministers Christ

Brother Hann is also a person whoministers Christ. He ministers Christ in avery pleasant way. He is always seen asone with a bright countenance and withsmiles. Seeing him would revive oursinking heart. Once he see us being joyful,he would immediately take out histreasures and dispense according to ourneed. Sometimes these would be themorning revival book. Sometimes it wouldbe ministry books. Sometimes it would bestories and testimonies. Until today, whenI remember the smile on brother Hann'sface, my heart feels warm inside andencouraged. May the Lord gain us tofollow such a pattern, to be a priest in ourdaily life to serve God.He Gave Many Prayer Mats to the MSWOfficeAmen. Yes, brother Hann is a man ofprayer. He was the first person whobrought many prayer mats to the MSWoffice. For a long time he would come tothe office early and kneel down and praywith us desperately. He also used topursue the words of the ministry with us.He said he is one who smells thefragrance, and he would go wherever

there is the fragrance of Christ. He wouldoften give treasures to the MSW office, such as calligraphy of spiritual words, diagram of the temple shown in Ezekiel. He also enjoys supplying us withmemorable words from brother Nee andbrother Lee from his wealth ofexperience. He brought a series of 3Dmaps and personally hanged it on the wallof the hallway of MSW office unit 2525,showing how the stream of the Lord'srecovery flowed from China to Taiwan, and then to the U.S., and then to all theearth. The matter of the Lord's move in allthe earth is in his heart, and he wouldupdate us the status of the Lord's move indifferent places. I believe he has beenpraying for the Lord's recovery, and alsofor the MSW work and serving ones. Mayhis spirit of prayer revive our prayer living,to be faithful to this ministry and to moveforward in this divine stream.

The First and Last Fellowship withBrother HannI met brother Hann for the first time whenI just started to serve the Lord. BrotherHann heard that I am in architecture andasked me, "You study architecture. Doyou know if there is a type of architecturethat can last in the tribulation and allowpeople to live in it?"

I answered, "There is no sucharchitecture, and if there is, it will win thePritzker Architecture Prize. Ourarchitecture can sustain the earth -quakeup to Richter scale of 8, but the estimatedmagnitude during the tribulation will go

far beyond it."

"That is too bad. Brother, you need toovercome and be raptured."

I was curious, "Brother, why would youask about architecture?"'

"It is because many brothers and sistersare not watchful, and they cannot beraptured, and there will be some lateovercomers," brother Hann said, "If theyhave a place to continue training, it mightbe easier for them to becomeovercomers."

Our conversation stopped there. This wasmy first conversation with brother Hann, and he encouraged me to overcome andbe raptured.

Many years have passed, and I always sawbrother Hann faithfully going to the officeto pray with us. Sometimes he would askthe brothers to help configuring somecomplicated electronic devices for thesake of pursuing ministry books. Oneweek before he passed away, he came tothe office and handed me a mobile phone, and said, "People today are alwaysspending time on their mobile phone andinternet. We need to contact themthrough WeChat."

I looked at this elderly brother, and wastouched and ashamed inside.

One week after, in the ITERO, I was in thesame group with brother Hann. BrotherHann's spirit was very released duringsharing time, and I have almost never seehim being so released. He said, "Thecounsel of peace will be between the twoof them. This means not only should we

need to know about the kingship andpriesthood, but we need to enter intothese two services." In the message"Christ as the Food, Clothing, andDwelling of the Priests," brother Hannalso said, "Priests are those whoseclothing, eating, dwelling, and walking areall before God. Our church life, which isour clothing, eating, dwelling, andwalking, should be our service to the Lord.

In the process of sharing, the brotherrepeatedly inquired of us what kind ofliving we have before the Lord. Thesewords became living supplies andreminders through the training. Anotherbrother said he could not see how thisbrother being elderly could still be soenergetic. However, this was the lastfellowship I had with brother Hann.

Over the years, I did not have frequentcontact with brother Hann, but I havevivid remembrance of his being desperatein prayer, being serious and absolute tothe ministry, bearing the difficulties indriving to meetings, and hanging thecalligraphy of spiritual words in the MSWoffice in his old age. Glory be to God, andpeace to those who pleases Him.

Practising the Vital Group

In the beginning of 2011, the churches inWest San Gabriel Valley (California)started to practise vital groups in visitingnew ones. At that time I just started toserve in MSW, and helped in registration. When we were counting

the registration, I saw a registration formsaying "Paul Hann" and "Church inAnaheim", and felt surprised and touched.Anaheim is 30 minutes’ drive from WestSan Gabriel Valley, and we did not knowany brother who would register and jointhe training. This brother was around 80years old.Praying, Shepherding, Supplying, andYearning for the Lord's ComingAfterwards, brother Hann joined the MSWmorning prayer watch, and I started to befamiliar with him. Not only did brotherHann join our prayer time, but he alsoprepared many home-made prayer matsfor us to kneel down to pray. We are usingthese mats up to this day.

Brother Hann would often bringsomething to shepherd us. Sometimes hewould copy words from the ministry, andother times he would bring calligraphy ofwords of life. There are some 3D mapsgiven by him on the wall of the MSWoffice hall way. These maps always remindus to pray for the Lord's work in all theearth.

There was a time when we were pursuingthe Life-Study of Ezekiel. Not only didbrother Hann join our pursuing, but healso collected many diagrams of thetemple shown in Ezekiel, and this hasgreatly helped us.

Brother Hann is really a person whowould supply life at anytime. In myconversations with him, I was alwayssupplied without me knowing. When hespoke to us a verse, a ministry portion, anexperience of the church, or a portion of

saints' history, we are reminded that weneed to live in the line of life. We need toexercise denying the self, and be faithful. Many times, he will bring us from thefluctuation situation and news of theworld back to God's governmental hands, especially in term of preparing the way ofthe Lord's coming back. The Lord's comingback is a frequent topic of brother Hann.He is waiting for the Lord's coming back, and his awaiting encourages us to alsoyearn earnestly.

In the beginning of this month, brotherHann came to our office, and told us tobring with us all the maps on the wall ifthe office relocates. I heard brother Hannpassing away on Monday, but these fewdays I felt he has not passed away

yet. It felt like he is just briefly going awayfrom us. Perhaps he will show up at theMSW office, and supply us again with hisjoyful, casual, restful, and pleasant words.

Perhaps this is really a brief departure, for the day of the Lord is near.

"All these died in faith, not receiving thepromises but seeing them from far andjoyfully greeting them and confessing thatthey were strangers and sojourners on theearth." (Rev. 14:13)

"And I heard a voice out of heaven, saying, Write, Blessed are the dead whodie in the Lord from now on. Yes, says theSpirit, that they may rest from theirlabors; for their works follow with them."(Heb. 11:13)

Through faith, in our brief time on earth,we can have a daily foretaste of what has

been promised to us. This foretaste willbring us to the eternal and full enjoyment. This is what I see from brother Hann.

Brother Hann is a pattern in loving theLord, serving Him, being faithful andovercoming. He encourages us, whoserves later than him, to closely follow theministry, have the same mind and heart, stand steadfast and press on, serve in acoordinated way, build up the Body ofChrist, prepare the Lord's bride, andfinally bring the Lord back. Amen!
