The Very Hungry Caterpillar
In the light of the moon a little egg lay on a leaf.
==
One Sunday morning - pop! –out of the egg came a tiny and very hungry caterpillar.
On Monday he ate 1 apple. But he was still hungry.
On Tuesday he ate 2 shallots. But he was still hungry.
On Wednesday he ate four cans of tinned food. But he was still hungry.
On Thursday he ate 2 bottles of orange juice, 1 coke and 1 can of watermelon juice. But he was still hungry.
On Friday he ate 1 lettuce leaf, 1 cucumber, 1 pod of peas,1 celery stick,1 hot chilli and 1 leaf of spinach. But he was still hungry.
On Saturday he ate 1 loaf of bread, 1 mushroom, 1 sausage, 1 lettuce leaf, 1 drumstick, 1 tomato, a handful of mixed vegetables, 1 bottle of tomato sauce, 1 corn on the cob and 1 egg plant. That night he had a stomach ache!
The next day was Sunday again. The caterpillar ate through one nice green leaf, and after that he felt much better.
Now he was not hungry any more - he was not a little caterpillar any more. He was a big, fat caterpillar.
He built a small house, called a cocoon, around himself. He stayed inside for more than two weeks. Then he nibbled a hole in the cocoon, pushed his
way out and .... He was a beautiful butterfly.
