Where do I look? How do I start?• Search for bloggers connected to
your cause, industry or organization
• Use your contacts to help curate information, use topics for your blog, learn about hot topics
• Retweet content regularly (make sure you read it, first!)
• Check out Twitterviews or conduct one of your own (@JoelECarlson)
• Listen in or participate in Twitter chats about topics that interest you (many times you can find them by searching hashtags and key words)
• Recommend your networks and contacts to others

Where do I look? How do I start?• Use @replies/mentions or DMs;
figure out how potential connections prefer to communicate
• Don’t spam
• Use twitter.com/search-advanced for location-based searches, key words, etc.
• Keep tabs on competition
• Consider hashtags (#) your friends and use them in your searches and tweets
• Track trends and key words by using Monitter.com
• Integrate your efforts by tweeting links to posts on Facebook or your blog (sparingly) to show where else you hang out in the social space

• Easy to share pictures, links, surveys, gather comments/responses all in one place

Successes and Failures
#Yay!Congratulating, thanking, mentioning
RT/passing info that may not pertain to you but would be helpful to your friends/fans/followers
#FailTaking credit for something that isn’t yours
No follow-back, reciprocation or responses
What are some examples you can share?

Rome wasn’t built in a day.
• Develop a routine• Don’t expect results
over night• You get out of it what
you put in to it
