Our target To continuously minimise the environmental impact of Forbo Flooring Systems as measured by the weighted categories in our independently verified Life Cycle Assessment measurement system by 25% before the end of 2015 (cf 2009).

This wet and dry soiling makes interiors look dirty and unattractive, causes structural damage to interior floor coverings and finishes and creates unnecessary health and safety hazards.

What do I need to consider?Every entrance environment is unique so requirements can vary greatly. Here are a few of the main points that need to be considered when choosing an entrance system:

LocationDo pedestrians approach the entrance from outside or from another part of the building?Internaldoorwaysleadingfromfactories,warehousesandworkshopsintoadjoiningofficeareasusuallyrequiresometypeofbarriersystem,asdomanyliftlobbiesandsideentrances.

Fire retardancyEntrancesoftenhaveadualfunctionasemergencyexits,inwhichcase,itcouldbeimportanttospecifyanentrancesystemwithfireretardantproperties.

ConfigurationHow is the entrance area designed? Are there revolving, sliding or traditional doors? Do people entering the building follow the same route or disperse in different directions?Thiscouldaffectthelayoutoftheentrancesystemrequired.

Soil types What type of soiling will your entrance flooring have to deal with?Carparks,garageforecourtsandloadingbaysgenerateoilygreasydeposits.Highstreetshopsneedentrancesystemswithhighwaterabsorbency.Finesandcanbeaproblemforpremisesincoastalareas.
