Problem and Solution
Problem:
Over 40% of Lego buyers either want the most pieces or the best price for a Lego set.
Currently, there is no easy way of determining which Lego set is the best value or “Price
per Piece”
Parents of daughters don’t want to buy lego sets that are heavily male themed.
Solution:
Create an app that will help alleviate the pressure in determining what is the best value
Lego set based on set name, part count, and unique piece count without prejudice
towards gender based Lego sets.

Mission Statement
With the ever-changing technology advances we strive to
bring children back to physical playing rather than
through a screen. We deliver the best information
possible, to help foster the creativity of physical building
in every child. All of our long-term and short-term actions
are molded by our passion for learning and Legos.

Market Feedback
● “This is a fantastic idea. I have run the UK FIRST Lego League
tournament for 13 years and wish I knew about Brickscan 13 years
ago!”
-Bruce L. Walcott
● “That'd be pretty cool...if you had a big fat database of set info and you
could scan stuff and have all that come up.”
-Reddit User - jouest
● “I would totally download and use such an app. I don't currently buy
Lego's because I never feel like I know if I'm buying the best value.”
-Anonymous Survey Respondent
Revenue Model
● App Store
o We would utilize a freemium model in order to generate revenue in the beginning
o Users can pay $1 per app without ads or can download the app for free and will put up with
ads
● Bix Bog Stores
o The ads on the free app would be targeted to promote local brick and mortar stores who
sell Legos such as Target, Walmart, and Toys R Us.
o By partnering with these brands, we could offer discounts to draw potential customers into
their stores.
● Lego Partnerships
o Lego focused forums and communities can promote and advertise themselves on our app
o Partnering with Lego in order to get current data and promotions would also be pursued
Tech & Features
- Our app utilizes barcode recognition technology in order to identify the individual sets
- We then pull the information about each set
- Using an existing database website we then added a program that dissects the Lego
set by:
a. Set number
b. Name of set
c. Number of pieces
- This serves to easily and accurately give the user the ability to determine if a
particular Lego set is worth the purchase.
Future
● Going forward, we plan to implement new features in order to address the wants of
the market, namely adding information on unique pieces, included minifigs, as well
as a buy-it-now option to purchase the set at a lower cost.
