Short history
Gothenburg karate Open started in May 2003. The competition involved the contestants 7-20 years, and was then called Gothenburg Youth Cup. In 2009 became the championship a full-scale event which also included senior cate-gories and renamed then to Gothenburg Karate Cup.

We start the competition with all
Kata categories. The kumite catego-
ries will start apprx at 12.00.
The time schedule will be presented
in real time on the screens at sports
hall and on www.gotopen.se.
This schedule will be updated during
the competition and can also be seen
in Smart Phones.

RULES & PROTECTION
No repechages for 7-13 years.
In kata 7-13 years, it is allowed to wear glasses and repeat same kata over and over.
Two 3rd places in all categories. All competitors have to bring
their own equipment. For all categories the official
WKF rules are applied with the exceptions of Swedish Karate Federations rules for youth.

Youth 7-13 years, no repechages Kata Girls 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 years Boys 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 years Kumite In Kumite please enter the child’s height in the registration form. Girls 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 years Boys 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 years
Cadets 14-15 years, with repechages
Kata Male & female in three new categories, Kyu, Dan & Open classes. Kumite

Juniors 16-17 years, with repechages
Kata Female & Male Juniors are also allowed to compete in kata for seniors. Kumite Female -48 kg, -53 kg, -59 kg, +59 kg Male -55 kg, -61 kg, -68 kg, -76 kg, +76 kg

Weigh in will take place on Friday,
from 18.00-21.00 and on Saturday from
8.00-13.00 at the sports hall.
Competition rules WKF: s rules &
Swedish Karate Federation rules.
Limitation We limit the number of
competitors to 500 participants.
Entry fee 30 € (250 SEK) per individ-
ual category entry.
Deadline The registration will close on
Wednesday, May 14th at 24.00.
