Successful Double Page Spread images IMG_8337: To have her yelling into a megaphone was my original idea. I created a megaphone out of rolled up paper, and I know that I would have to manipulate the image in Photoshop to smooth/remove the folds to look of a higher quality. The stance is quite nice as it is something that can stretch over both pages- an idea that I want for my double page spread-. It is an image that looks fun and upbeat but, personally, I do not like the photo as much as I feel I should. When going onto Photoshop the image wasn’t stretching over the two pages as much as I liked and I didn’t want to make the image too big and make the whole outcome unprofessional. IMG_8343: I decided to go for the same style of image but change her stance, this image looks more active and I like how her hair is sort of flowing to the side as it gives the hair some sort of volume. However, when putting this into Photoshop I know that this wouldn’t go across two pages considering the previous photo wouldn’t. I also found that the make-do megaphone was coming outside the pink area which would have made it slightly more difficult for me to manipulate. I decided to opt against the megaphone idea and try different stances as I felt it wasn’t going as well as I hoped. IMG_8358:

To have her yelling into a megaphone was my original idea.

I decided to go for the same style of image but change her stance, this image looks more active and I like how her hair is sort of flowing to the side as it gives the hair some sort of volume.

I really liked the stance with this image as it seemed powerful and something that can relate really well for the character of the magazine (seeing as I am creating a young woman who is taking a step into the industry). To take a shot like this I asked her to throw some pieces of paper into the air and took continuous shots on my camera as they fell down. This was making mid burst and I like how the pages are floating. I’ve now decided that I am going to use this image for my double page spread and work around the sides to expand to the size of two magazine pages. I am going to place the photo so that the model is on the left page near the centre and the blue pages on the other side. With the other photos that I took with the thrown pages I will take and place onto this image to make it look almost like pages from a book being thrown.

Before I started putting my image into Photoshop I used an app on my phone called VSCOCam. This is a photo editing app that a lot of people use to enhance their images and I wanted to use this to colour correct my image to make it more appealing as I feel that there are too much yellow tones and I wanted to balance it out.

I went through all the tools from FILTERS to CONTRASTS and SATURATION until I corrected my image to how I wanted.

I then used my phones own image editing to crop out the sides of the image that I didn’t want- this would help me when using Photoshop as I just need to expand on what is already there rather than cutting things out and potentially confusing myself and spoiling the image.

I like the outcome of my image and now I need to work it into a double page spread by selecting part of the background and expanding them to fit the size of an A3 sheet of paper.

I will also need to remove the lines using the told provided in Photoshop.
