Ideation platform

> Participants ideas are anonymous, so they can feel free to get creative = safe space for innovation

In the first stage, ideators are on their own—solving the groupthink problem of in-person ideation sessions

> The session lasts 15 minutes, with the AI switching stages by judging how active participants are.

> The semi-anonymous small groups allow for people to put forward ideas without fear of retribution. The chat and visibility of the other participants ensures that people will behave respectfully.

> People get to answer the challenge question or workshop topic on their own, providing a more diverse pool of ideas for those running the challenge

In the second stage, participants can see each other’s ideas, and can combine or be inspired by them

> Participants can take components of other ideas to build stronger ones, or be inspired by others’ thoughts to come up with new ideas entirely.

> Ideas remain anonymous in the second stage, but participants have the ability to ’like’ an idea, which sends a notification to the person who wrote the idea

> People can take part in challenges either contemporaneously, or they can choose to take part at their leisure (like, if the challenge is open for two weeks, for example). The AI solves for this and it always feels contemporaneous to the user.

In the third stage, participants can add pictures to inspireothers and further explain their ideas

> Users can continue to add ideas in this stage as well, and can add ideas whenever, throughout the entire 15 minutes

> Adding pictures is currently powered by safe Google search, but in upcoming updates to the platform, users can upload images (like drawings of prototypes) from their hard drives

> Be-novative works on computers, tablets and smartphones, and is a cloud-based SaaS solution

The fourth stage showcases a Be-novative creativity-enhancing technique: the random word generator

> The random word generator picks from a pool of 300 words that are heavily associated with imagery in people’s minds.

> The random word generator strategically distracts users from their line of thought to inspire out-of-the-box ideas. Sounds crazy, but it works.

> The AI automatically switches users between stages throughout the 15 minute ideation session

Be-novative solves for idea glut via a crowdsourcedevaluation engine, bringing the best ideas to the top

> Each box on the graph has a set number of points associated with it, which is part of our broader gamification element. Users earn points by having their ideas ranked highly.

> Each participant reviews 30-40 ideas, which takes 3-4 additional minutes, ranking them on a graph. By default the axes are set to impact and feasibility, but they can be customized at the beginning of any challenge.

> Each idea is reviewed three times at least by the crowd, which helps separate wheat from chaff.
