Core Driver of BPM projects
• Delivery of enhanced business performance through:
•Cost reduction: How efficient are your processes? How much manual
tasks are involved in your processes?
• Increase Agility: How complex is to consume or provide a service to
other company? How fast we can adapt and take advantage from a
new market change?
• Increase Visibility: How aligned are our IT applications with our
business goals? What is the current state of my processes?

Pitfalls

5 BPM projects pitfalls
● Limit process scopeDo not try to model everything in one, big process. Make smaller processes, consider if ACM is more suitable
● Monitoring phase on BPM projects – facilitate improvementsIn some projects, the BPM lifecycle is not achieved completely. Projects end on “Execution” phase and don’t recognize the benefits of monitor and improve the “as-is” processes.
● BPM Processes Collaboration - Business and Data architecture first!Business Processes are part of a Value Chain, and are inter-dependent and in communication with others processes. This is why you have to take care of Business and Data architecture before design and implement a process.

5 BPM projects pitfalls
● “Oracle BPM forces me to use ADF”
“If I have no experience and no trained team on Oracle ADF, I can’t implement a solution
with Oracle BPM”. This is false. Oracle BPM includes 2 ADF applications: Oracle Business
Process Composer and Oracle Business Process Workspace. But you can reuse your
knowledge on .Net/PHP/Java EE implementing the User task’s interfaces.
● Oracle BPM deployment
“My BPM processes are slow”. This depends on how your SOA/BPM server are deployed.
