I am tempted to say...Nothing!

Or, more exactly:Nothing but advocacy!

● An ODF reader on every desktop (and smartphone, game console, car, TV, browser...

● Make it impossible to refuse an ODF file “because I don't know how to open it”

Marco Fiorettihttp://mfioretti.com

Go beyond the paper page:

● Don't be limited by book concepts like ToCs with pages

● Support for Bible-like sentence level cross-referencing and indexing

● Useful in contracts and other legal and non legal documents

Marco Fiorettihttp://mfioretti.com

OK, what would I like to see in ODF?

Page 4: What do I want to see in ODF-next?

● Convergence with UDF?

● Integration/replacement of UBL (Universal Business Language)?

● (above all) Support for Metadata in the same microformats already popular on the Web

● Drag and drop addresses and other stuff to and from databases or Web forms

● Ask the computer● “find all the phone numbers in this ODF file

and add them to my contacts manager● “send an email to all the addresses in this

slideshow”

(slide added after the discussions that followed my other presentation on ODF-scripting at OOOcon 2010)

● Please do keep ODF as simple to hack as it is today and has

been from the very beginning

● Otherwise I and all other non programmers will have much

more problems to quickly hack ODF as I explain at

http://freesoftware.zona-m.net/odf-scripting

● Thanks for keeping ODF simple!

Wait! Here's another thing I want to see in ODF-next!!!
