• The 51 participants from the First Reformed Church Vacation Bible School were challenged to collect school supplies for the food bank.

• For every 125 pounds collected, someone got a pie-in-the-face!

390 pounds of backpacks and school supplies. Such a blessing!

• When altar server coordinator, David Smith, was planning the August retreat for his student altar servers at Incarnation Catholic Church he decided that collecting and organizing school supplies for the Kaye Prox Food Bank would help his students better understand and empathize with other young people whose families are in financial difficulty.

• By the end of the retreat, the altar servers had collected and organized enough supplies to fill 17 backpacks and more than 2 dozen grocery bags.

• Last year the food bank was able to provide school supplies for more than 120 students—but only about a dozen backpacks.

• This year, in great part because of the generosity of the Glazer Family Foundation and their Buc-Packs program, we were able to give more than 130 students fully-stuffed backpacks.

• The Foundation provided 50 of those backpacks.
