Our app is aimed at the young people in local

communities who spend lots of time on the

streets with nothing to do but cause trouble

It helps the young people find out where the

nearest youth club to them is.

The youth clubs would take place afterschool

when everyone is either on their way home or at

home

It will find the clubs nearest to the young people

The reason for this is because people complain

about young people causing trouble in their

areas

Background Situation

Page 3: 2014 competition entry_presentation-youth co

There are many people that make complaints about the

young people in there area making too much trouble and

behaving inappropriately in their local communities. 73%

of the people who complain are senior citizens. The

problem is that the young people of today spend too

much time ‘hanging out’ on the streets’ rather spending

time with their families.

What's the problem?

Page 4: 2014 competition entry_presentation-youth co

How can we keep

the young people

of today off the

streets?

Page 5: 2014 competition entry_presentation-youth co

If most of the young people were to go to a youth club whenever they feel the need to stay

on the streets, there wouldn’t be anyone around to cause trouble

Our team, YouthCo, is developing YouthUniverse

to help the young people stay off the streets using the power

of GPS to search & locate the nearest youth centres and

activities

What we are BASICALLY doing

Page 7: 2014 competition entry_presentation-youth co

7 out of the 9 mothers we interviewed were worried

about their children who were between the ages of 12

and 19. The seven that were worried all said that their

children have been involved with crime

41% of 10-17 year olds have been involved in one or

more crimes

59,335 court sentences in 2012 (10-18 year olds)

2012/13.

There were 43,601 young people sentenced in England

and Wales.

43,601 youth were sentenced in 2012/13.

Facts & Statistics

We have no other alternative apps that are similar to us in the market

which means our app is very unique and the first app that will help young people find youth clubs in their areas

Page 9: 2014 competition entry_presentation-youth co

We have two core features on our app.

One of the features is that you are able to

access timetables for different centres all

on one page and the second one is that

you are able to click one button then the

app locates every centre/club near you.

Getting the data for our app will be getting

timetables from each local youth centres

and posting them on our app. We rely on

this data because this is the information

that our app is meant to give out to the

users of our app.

Data and Content

Page 15: 2014 competition entry_presentation-youth co

We have chosen to make our app free to download for anyone but to make money our

app will use advertisements. The reason for this, is because we want mainly young people to

download their app and it is very unlikely for a young person to use card details on a mobile

phone to pay for an app.

Business model

Page 16: 2014 competition entry_presentation-youth co

To get the maximum number of downloads as we can, we are going to promote our app using social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, etc. We will use social media apps so that we can get the young people attracted to our app.

We will also advertise our app using posters and newspapers to aim at adults who will try to persuade their children to download the apps to find somewhere to go.
