Meditation around the Cross

PrayerWe adore you, O Christ, and we bless you:

All: Because by your holy crossyou have redeemed the world.

The crucifixion of Jesus (John 19: 25-27)

Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary

the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.  When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple

whom he loved standing near by, he said to her, ‘Woman, here is your son,’ and to the disciple, ‘Here is your

mother.’ From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
