Contribu ons can be made through your monthly envelopes, online at www.sanluisreyparish.org or by contac ng our bookkeeper, Elizabeth Rose, to set up an EFT dona on.

A QUOTE FROM POPE FRANCIS

Nobody can go off to ba le unless he is fully convinced of victory be-forehand. If we start without confi-dence, we have already lost half the ba le and we bury our talents. While painfully aware of our own frail es, we have to march on without giving in, keeping in mind what the Lord said to Saint Paul: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Cor 12:9). Chris an triumph is always a cross, yet a cross which is at the same me a victorious banner borne with aggressive tenderness against the assaults of evil. The evil spirit of defea sm is brother to the tempta on to separate, before its me, the wheat from the weeds; it is the fruit of an anxious and self-centred lack of trust. ― The Joy of the Gospel: Evan-gelii Gaudium

STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT

Solemnity of Christ the King In today’s Gospel, arguably the most important exchange in all of literature, Pilate asks Jesus: “What have you done?” Jesus replies that he tes fies to the truth. In the second reading we are reminded of the essence of that truth: Christ, ruler of all, loves us, frees us from sin, makes us a new kingdom. As we approach the Advent season, this week would be a good me to reflect on the ques on: What have we done in our daily lives, in our ac ons, words, private prayer, and in our interac on with others, to tes fy that Jesus is Lord?
