Matthew 2:1-2
After Jesus was born in Bethlehemin Judea, during the time of KingHerod, Magi from the east came toJerusalem
2 and asked, “Where is the one whohas been born king of the Jews? Wesaw his star when it rose and havecome to worship him.”

9 After they had heard the king,they went on their way, and thestar they had seen when it rosewent ahead of them until itstopped over the place where thechild was.

10 When they saw the star, theywere overjoyed.
11 On coming to the house, theysaw the child with his motherMary, and they bowed down andworshiped him. Then they openedtheir treasures and presented himwith gifts of gold, frankincenseand myrrh.
Gold—his kingship
Frankincense—priestly role
Myrrh—embalmbing.
