Continual Believing by Robert Woeger To believe in God, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, requires continual believing, involving a lifestyle of doing what Jesus Christ said to do, and not just a one-time confession of faith. His Love is perfected in you when you faithfully keep his commandments. “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” 1 John 5:3-4. You are saved by grace alone by your faith in Jesus Christ, in all that He did for you, including His death, burial, and resurrection. You demonstrate your faith by living a lifestyle that glorifies God, and Jesus, by abiding in Christ’s Love. Anyone can say that they believe in God and in Jesus Christ, but their lifestyle will show the true fruit of what they believe. Whatever you believe will control you. Decide to permit Jesus Christ, through The Precious Holy Spirit, to direct your life so as to best glorify God. Hunger after God’s Righteousness. Draw everything you need through Jesus. When you continually believe in God and Jesus, you confirm your faith by your words, thoughts and actions. You do not earn Salvation by works. Your works are a natural outcropping that are the evidence of your faith. When you believe God, it is credited to you as righteousness. Any true Believer will be transformed by Jesus, die to self, and desire to continually renew their mind with God’s Word. You are called to go “...from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” Romans 1:17. Always “...Have faith in God.” Mark 11:22. “...building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,” Jude 1:20. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17. “...whatsoever is not of faith is sin.Romans 14:23. Always yield to God’s Will for you. Ask The Holy Spirit to help you show Christ’s Love. Remember that Jesus Christ already did everything for you, by dying in your place, and paying for your sins. Jesus expects you to believe Him, grow in faith and love by reading The Word, and do what He Says to do. Faith is dependence upon God and His Word, having compassion and love for people, and not judging them. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” 1 Corinthians 4:2. Many people desire the benefits of Christ, but they do not seem interested in making the effort to follow Christ, being obedient. God warns you to not rely on your flesh, or your reasoning, but to be led by His Spirit. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.” Proverbs 3:5-7. “...let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith...” Hebrews 12:1-2. Abide with Jesus Christ and expectantly await His Return. Share The Gospel with as many people as possible, and discover, and fulfill the assignment that God has for you. “Then said Jesus...If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31-32. Stop confessing the problem that trials and temptations bring. Instead speak what God Says about the matter. It shows faith, when you align yourself with the promises in God’s Word and remind God of His Promises. Faith must be demonstrated. Works are the evidence of faith. “...faith, if it hath not works, is dead...” “Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.” “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” James 2:17,24,26. Continually speak life, bearing fruit. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21. Negative words and thoughts will keep God away from helping you, but positive thoughts and words will draw God nearer to you. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.” James 4:7-8. Do not speak evil of other people, or judge them. Choose to forgive people. “(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)” 2 Corinthians 5:7. Continually believe God and Jesus, never doubting.
