“Go To Church:”--We can assemble with the church Ac.11:26

--The church can gather together Ac.14:27

--The church can come together 1Cor.11:17,18

--Come together in one place 1 Cor. 11:20

--Come together to eat the Lord’s supper

1 Cor. 11:33

“Let’s Go To Church!”•We must Understand What the

Church Is!

•Church means - the called out ones; an assembly, a gathering, congregation whether spiritual or civil.

Acts 7:38; 19:32, 39, 41; Heb. 12:23

•Assembly of saved people: applied universally Mt. 16:18 & locally 1 Cor. 1:2

“Let’s Go To Church!”

•In the Bible: To “Go To The Church” Means To Go To The Messiah And Be Saved! Is. 2:2-3; Mic. 4:2; Ac. 2:41,47

•Let us show our understanding and obedience to scripture by the words we use to convey our spiritual actions.

What We Should Be Doing When We Come Together!

•Go to worship God Ac. 20:7; 1 Cor. 11:20, 33-34; Heb. 2:12

•Go to be Edified by True Worship1 Corinthians 14:26; John 4:24

•Go to Edify Others1 Cor. 14:19, 26; Hebrews 10:24-25

Why More Do Not “Go To Worship Services:”

•“I’m too busy”. 4 hours a week?

Eph. 5:16 redeem the time/don’t waste

•“It’s boring”. --Not entertainment!Perhaps you are bored because you don’t know enough about what worship is! Mt. 4:10; 1 Chron. 16:29; 1 Pet. 2:5

Why More Do Not “Go To Worship Services:”

•“I Don’t Like the Preacher”.You don’t worship for the sake of the preacher!

I don’t like what he preaches about.

The preacher ought to do his work to please God, not man - Gal. 1:10

Why More Do Not “Go To Worship Services:”

•“The people are unfriendly”.

Are you friendly when you speak of others this way?

Be friendly yourself – Prov. 18:24

Why More Do Not “Go To Worship Services:”

•“There are too many hypocrites there”.

Christians do sin sometimes, but

we are not to be living in sin. Col. 3:5

All hypocrites will be in hell. Rev. 21:8

“I’d rather worship with hypocrites than

be sent to hell with them”. Jas. 5:19-20

Why More Do Not “Go To Worship Services:”

•“All They Are Interested In Is My Money”.

This is simply not true! 2 Cor. 12:14

Christians want to give as they have received. Mt. 10:8; 2 Cor. 9:6-10

Application:

•Our coming together is for spiritual service to God and edification of saints!

•Will you go to the house of the Lord (church) and be saved today?

•Will you go to worship for the right reasons?

Salvation:• You can come into Jesus Christ’s

church today when you have…• Heard – John 6:45

• Believed – Hebrews 11:6

• Repented of sins – Luke 13:3

• Confessed Jesus - Romans 10:10

• Been Baptized – Acts 22:16
