WHY IS WORSHIP IMPORTANT

All heaven worships God. (Rev. 7:11)

Every creature will worship Jesus ( Phil 2)

God intensely seeks (John 4)

God jealously guards (Ex. 20)

Satan intensely seeks (Matt 4)

All false gods seek

Humans always worship something (Hab. 1:11, Acts 17:22-13)

Missions exist because worship doesn't

WHY IS WORSHIP IMPORTANT

The greatest key to success in this life and the next

My greatest strength throughout all my life

The spiritual ceiling of any church is determined by how well its people worship God

WORSHIP SAYS TO GOD:

You are the Creator and Sustainer of all that exists

You alone have saved me from my sins through Jesus and given me eternal life.

You are the most wise, powerful, beautiful, creative, kind, generous, gracious, merciful, majestic Being.

You are my God, my Lord, My King, My Savior, My Master and my Friend.

I live for You. I woulds die for You. You are my all in all. You are my life.

ROMANS 11:22

The most gracious, tender-hearted, merciful Father God

The most fearsome, all-powerful, just and majestic God

Isaiah 40 reveals both sides of God

Chooses to love & pursue us before time began ( Eph. 1:4-5)

Creates us, offers forgiveness and eternal life—for FREE!

Sent His Son Jesus to suffer and die for us sinners (John 3:16)

Desires that everyone become His adopted child ( 1 Tim. 2:4)

Shares the inheritance of Jesus with those who love Him (Rom 8: 17)

Raises up and destroys nations as He sees fit. (Is. 40)

Wiped out all but 8 people on earth in a flood due to sin. (Gen. 6-9)

Will kill millions of unrepentant sinners at the end of time. (Revelations)

Created eternal fire to torment unrepentant sinners forever (Revelations)

THE FEAR OF THE LORD

“Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.” Ps. 33:8

"Woe to the one who quarrels with his Maker.” Is. 45:9

 “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matt. 10:28—spoken by Jesus!

See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking…Therefore…offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire.

WORSHIP SAYS TO GOD:

HOW TO WORSHIP

With Words: “Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name” 1 Chron. 16:28

With Song: “Sing to the LORD, all the earth” 1 Chron 16:23

With Dance: “Let them praise his name with dancing.” Ps 149:3

With Music: “Make music to Him with timbrel and harp.” Ps.149:3

With Offerings: “Bring an offering and come before him. Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.” 1 Chron. 16:29

HOW TO WORSHIP

With Obedience: “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice,—this is your true and proper worship. Rom 12:1

With Service: “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” 1Cor. 10:31

With Silence: “The LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before Him.” (Hab. 2:20)

HOW I WORSHIP

I let desperation, discipline and delight lead me to worship

Music, guitar, radio, tapes, CD’s, even dance.

Lot’s of time alone with God: walk & talk, lay on bed & listen

Offer a worshipping heart to God everywhere & in everything!

Fill free moments with worship: driving, in shower, wash dishes…

“YOU WHO ARE ENTHRONED UPON THE PRAISES OF ISRAEL.” (PS. 22:3)
