Announcements
Fellowship Team Meeting - There will be a meeting today immediately following Worship Service in the Conference Room. We will be discussing Homecoming. This meeting is open to anyone wishing to help. Mission Team Meeting - Monday, September 22nd at 7:00 pm in the Conference Room. If your heart is in missions then please join us! The Fall Senior Adult Rally is Tuesday, September 30th at Fuquay-Varina Baptist Church. Registration begins at 9:00 am. Properties Committee Meeting - Thursday, October 4th at 7:00 pm in the Conference Room. DNOW @ Camp Caswell - Sign up for DNOW! The weekend has changed to September 27-28. DNOW is hosting an event at Camp Caswell on Oak Island. The total cost is $70. Please see Pastor Joe for more information. Operation Christmas Child - KBC is collecting items for the Samaritan’s Purse shoebox ministry every month. For the month of September we are collecting accessories: T-Shirts/Socks, Ball Caps/Sunglasses, Hair Bows/Clips, Toy Jewelry/Watches, Flashlights/Batteries. The collection boxes are at the bottom of the stairs in the Education Building and in the hallway at the back of the Sanctuary. Thank you for your contributions! Backpack Buddies - Thank you ALL for the ongoing food donations you provide for Backpack Buddies. The weekend meals are going to children at Knightdale Elementary School who might otherwise have little or no food from Friday until they return to school Monday morning. We need lots of kid-friendly non-perishable food items to maintain this ministry (a grocery list can be found in the vestibule for you to take home). Currently we have an urgent need of all items on the grocery list. The food collection bins are located in the Education Building and the vestibule of the Sanctuary. Thank you again for supporting this ministry. Volunteer Opportunity - Read and Feed Training is Tuesday, September 23rd at 6:00 pm in the KBC Fellowship Hall. Read and Feed is a non-profit organization that combines a child friendly atmosphere, books, food, and tutors to motivate children to become confident in their academic skills so

they have every opportunity to succeed in adult life. We meet once a week for an hour in the evening (5:30-6:30 pm) beginning Tuesday, September 30th. We feed the children a hot meal then work with them on their reading and reading comprehension skills. All materials and training are provided! So please join us Tuesday, September 23rd at 6:00 pm at Knightdale Baptist Church for a Volunteer Orientation/Training session. Sign up at www.readandfeed.org or contact Kati Mullan at [email protected], 919-538-3840. Yam Jam 2014 - Saturday, October 11th from 8:30 - 11:30 am. This event is open to everyone! Come glean a field! Please see Robin Farrington for more information.
Homecoming will be celebrated on Sunday, October 5th
Our day to celebrate Homecoming will be here soon, so please reserve October 5th so you can be a part of this special event. Rev. Jeff Roberts will be our guest speaker and is very excited to be with us on our special day. We will have our wonderful Homecoming meal in the comfort of the Family Life Center, so be sure to invite your family, friends and former members to celebrate with us. Also remember to prepare adequate food for those you invite. Also, the Harvest Funds collected this year will be for the Capital Maintenance Fund. Let’s all be in prayer and preparation to celebrate Homecoming 2014 on October 5th.

Please note: If for some reason you are not available to help on the day that you volunteered to work, we ask that you please don’t forget to find a replacement for yourself so there is adequate coverage during the worship service. Also, if you have a change in the schedule for the children’s nursery or children’s church, please contact the monthly coordinator so that the change can be made prior to the printing of the worship bulletin. However, any permanent changes in the schedule should continue to be handled by the lead coordinator.

Attention KBC Parents: If you have a child participating in children’s worship, please make sure they are picked up at the end of the church service by a parent or adult. The children’s worship leaders will only allow children to be picked up by a parent or adult from the nursery, toddler, 2-3 year old, 4-5 year old, or 6-7 year old classrooms. We love our children at KBC and want to ensure their safety!
