ਕਰਮ ਖੰਡ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਜੋਰੁ ॥ In the realm of Karma, Bani is Power.

ਤਤਥੈ ਹੋਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰੁ ॥ There is nothing else.

ਤਤਥੈ ਜੋਧ ਮਹਾਬਲ ਸੂਰ ॥ There is great power and strength of a hero.

ਤਤਨ ਮਤਹ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਤਹਆ ਭਰਪੂਰ ॥ This is where God’s essence is infused.

ਤਤਥੈ ਸੀਤੋ ਸੀਤਾ ਮਤਹਮਾ ਮਾਤਹ ॥ There the one who sews, sews and places His greatness in you.

ਤਾ ਕੇ ਰੂਪ ਨ ਕਥਨੇ ਜਾਤਹ ॥ The beauty of this process cannot be described.

ਨਾ ਓਤਹ ਮਰਤਹ ਨ ਠਾਗੇ ਜਾਤਹ ॥ They will not die or be duped by thugs,

ਤਜਨ ਕੈ ਰਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਤਹ ॥ the ones who keep God in their mind.

ਤਤਥੈ ਭਗਤ ਵਸਤਹ ਕੇ ਲੋਅ ॥ The devotees of many worlds dwell there.

ਕਰਤਹ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਸਚਾ ਮਤਨ ਸੋਇ ॥ They are celebrated whose minds reach Anand and Truth.

Naam is bani All the training is given in the mother’s womb The fire of the womb is that just like Maya Your subtle body is bound to the physical body until death Your mind has a choice to stay with Shiv or play in Shakti

ਏਹ ੁਸਰੀਰ ੁਸਭ ਮੂਲ ੁਹ ੈਮਾਇਆ ॥

This body is the root of all Maya;

ਹਤਰ ਮੰਦਰੁ ਏਹੁ ਸਰੀਰ ੁਹ ੈਤਗਆਤਨ ਰਤਤਨ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹਇੋ ॥

This body is the Temple of God, in which the jewel of knowledge is revealed.

ਪੰਚ ਤਤੁ ਤਮਤਲ ਕਾਇਆ ਕੀਨੀ ॥ The body is formed from the union of the five elements.

Kaal-

ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਬਾਧੋ ਕਾਲ ਕੋ ਤਬਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਾਲੁ ਅਫਾਰੁ ॥

The whole world is bound by Kaal; without the

Guru, Kaal cannot be avoided.

ਮਨੁ ਹਤਰ ਕੀਆ ਤਨੁ ਸਭੁ ਸਾਤਜਆ ॥ ਪੰਚ ਤਤ ਰਤਚ ਜੋਤਤ ਤਨਵਾਤਜਆ ॥ The Lord created the mind, and fashioned the entire body. From the five elements, He formed it, and infused His Light within it.

ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਸਕਤੀ ਇਹ ੁਮਨੁ ਸੀਉ ॥ This mind is Shakti; this mind is Shiva.

ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਪੰਚ ਤਤ ਕੋ ਜੀਉ ॥ This mind is the life of the five elements.

ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਲੇ ਜਉ ਉਨਮਤਨ ਰਹੈ ॥ When this mind is channeled, and guided to enlightenment,

ਤਉ ਤੀਤਨ ਲੋਕ ਕੀ ਬਾਤੈ ਕਹੈ ॥੩੩॥ It can describe the secrets of the three worlds. ||33||

ਸਰਮ ਖੰਡ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਰੂਪੁ ॥ In the realm of humility (at the feet/ sanctuary of the guru), the Word is Beauty.

ਤਤਥੈ ਘਾੜਤਤ ਘੜੀਐ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਅਨੂਪੁ ॥ There this are shaped and shaped in to many forms beauty.

ਤਾ ਕੀਆ ਗਲਾ ਕਥੀਆ ਨਾ ਜਾਤਹ ॥ These things cannot be described.

ਜੇ ਕੋ ਕਹੈ ਤਪਛੈ ਪਛੁਤਾਇ ॥ One who tries to speak of these shall regret the attempt.

ਤਤਥੈ ਘੜੀਐ ਸੁਰਤਤ ਮਤਤ ਮਤਨ ਬੁਤਧ ॥ There shaped is the Surti (consciousness), Mat (way of thinking), Mind and Intellect.

ਤਤਥੈ ਘੜੀਐ ਸੁਰਾ ਤਸਧਾ ਕੀ ਸੁਤਧ ॥੩੬॥ There disciple and understanding are consumed and shaped. ||36||

To Remove the Mind from Maya/ Kaal you must be able to go back to your Mool / Root.

ਤਤਥੈ ਕਾਲੁ ਨ ਅਪੜੈ ਤਜਥੈ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥੭॥

Kaal does not reach that place, where the

Infinite Word of the Guru's Shabad resounds. ||7||

ਸੁਤਣਐ ਪੋਤਹ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਕਾਲੁ ॥ Listening, Kaal cannot even touch you.

ਮਾਇਆ ਮਤਹ ਕਾਲ ੁਅਰੁ ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤਾ ॥੩॥ Kaal and the Five Dhuts are in Maya.

ਨਾ ਓਤਹ ਮਰਤਹ ਨ ਠਾਗੇ ਜਾਤਹ ॥ They will not die or be duped by thugs,

ਤਜਨ ਕੈ ਰਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਤਹ ॥ the ones who keep God in their mind.

ਮੁੰ ਦਾ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਸਰਮੁ ਪਤੁ ਝੋਲੀ ਤਧਆਨ ਕੀ ਕਰਤਹ ਤਬਭੂਤਤ ॥

Make contentment your ear-rings, humility your begging bowl, and meditation the ashes you apply to your body. ਤਖੰਥਾ ਕਾਲੁ ਕੁਆਰੀ ਕਾਇਆ ਜੁਗਤਤ ਡੰਡਾ ਪਰਤੀਤਤ ॥

Let the remembrance of Kall be the patched coat you wear, let the purity of virginity be your way in the world, and let faith in the Lord be your walking stick. ਆਈ ਪੰਥੀ ਸਗਲ ਜਮਾਤੀ ਮਤਨ ਜੀਤੈ ਜਗੁ ਜੀਤੁ ॥

See the brotherhood of all mankind as the highest order of Yogis; conquer your own mind, and conquer the world.

ਆਦੇਸੁ ਤਤਸੈ ਆਦੇਸੁ ॥

I bow to Him, I humbly bow.

ਆਤਦ ਅਨੀਲੁ ਅਨਾਤਦ ਅਨਾਹਤਤ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਏਕੋ ਵੇਸ ੁ॥੨੮॥

The Primal One, the Pure Light, without beginning, without end. Throughout all the ages, He is One and the Same. ||28||

Important to know

• Karma’s are written on the mind

• Enmity is a produced as a result of failure to understand Karma

• Failure to recognize your source via shabad places you in the cycle of life and death

• Trapped in fear

• With blessings you learn to Jap and break the cycle.

• Waheguru is self exist and depends on no one. Power belongs to him he gives.

ਹੁਕਮੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਣੇ ਪਇਐ ਤਕਰਤਤ ਤਫਰਾਉ ॥ According to the Lord's Command, people perform their actions; they wander around, driven by the karma of their past actions.

Win the Game of Life

ਲੇਖਾ ਪੜੀਐ ਜੇ ਲੇਖੇ ਤਵਤਚ ਹੋਵੈ ॥ We could read the account of the Lord, if He were in any account.

ਭੁਗਤਤ ਤਗਆਨੁ ਦਇਆ ਭੰਡਾਰਤਣ ਘਤਟ ਘਤਟ ਵਾਜਤਹ ਨਾਦ ॥

Let spiritual wisdom be your food, and compassion your attendant. Let Naad vibrates in each and every heart. ਆਤਪ ਨਾਥੁ ਨਾਥੀ ਸਭ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਤਰਤਧ ਤਸਤਧ ਅਵਰਾ ਸਾਦ ॥

He Himself is the Supreme Master of all; wealth and miraculous spiritual powers, and all other external tastes and pleasures, are all like beads on a string. ਸੰਜੋਗ ੁਤਵਜੋਗ ੁਦੁਇ ਕਾਰ ਚਲਾਵਤਹ ਲੇਖੇ ਆਵਤਹ ਭਾਗ ॥

Union and separation are two paths you can walk, our luck is determined by what is written on our leakha. ਆਦੇਸੁ ਤਤਸੈ ਆਦੇਸੁ ॥

I bow to Him, I humbly bow. ਆਤਦ ਅਨੀਲ ੁਅਨਾਤਦ ਅਨਾਹਤਤ ਜੁਗ ੁਜੁਗ ੁਏਕੋ ਵੇਸੁ ॥੨੯॥

The Primal One, the Pure Light, without beginning, without end. Throughout all the ages, He is One and the Same. ||29||

ਤਨਰਭਉ

ਤਨਰਭਉ ਤਨਰਵੈਰ ਅਥਾਹ ਅਤੋਲੇ ॥ Fearless, free of hate, Unfathomable, Immeasurable,

ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਤ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੰਭੌ ਮਨ ਤਸਮਰਤ ਠੰਢਾ ਥੀਵਾਂ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ of Undying Form, Unborn, Self-illumined: remembering You in meditation, my mind is filled with a deep and profound peace. ||2||

ਤਨਰਭਉ

ਭੈ ਤਬਨੁ ਤਨਰਭਉ ਤਕਉ ਥੀਐ ਗੁਰਮੁਤਖ ਸਬਤਦ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Without the Fear of God, how can anyone become fearless? Become Gurmukh, and immerse yourself in the Shabad. ||1||Pause||

ਤਨਰਭਉ ਜਤਪ ਮਨ ਤਨਰਭਉ ॥ O my mind, meditate on the Fearless Lord,

ਸਤਤ ਸਤਤ ਸਦਾ ਸਤਤ ॥

who is True, True, Forever True.

ਤਨਰਵਰੈੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਤ ॥ He is free of vengeance, the Image of the Undying,

ਆਜੂਨੀ ਸੰਭਉ ॥ beyond birth, Self-existent.

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਅਨਤਦਨ ਤਧਆਇ ਤਨਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਤਨਰਾਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

O my mind, meditate night and day on the Formless, Self-sustaining Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਤਨਰਵੈਰ ੁ

ਸਤਤਗੁਰੁ ਤਨਰਵੈਰੁ ਪੁਤਰ ਸਤਰ ਸਮਾਨੇ ਅਉਗਣ ਕਟੇ ਕਰੇ ਸੁਧੁ ਦੇਹਾ ॥

The True Guru has no enmity; He looks upon son and enemy alike. Removing faults and mistakes, He purifies the human body

ਮਨ ਤੂੰ ਗਾਰਤਬ ਅਤਟਆ ਗਾਰਤਬ ਲਤਦਆ ਜਾਤਹ ॥ O mind, you are so full of pride; loaded with pride, you shall depart. ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਣੀ ਮੋਤਹਆ ਤਫਤਰ ਤਫਤਰ ਜਨੂੀ ਭਵਾਤਹ ॥ The fascinating Maya has fascinated you, over and over again, and lured you into reincarnation. ਗਾਰਤਬ ਲਾਗਾ ਜਾਤਹ ਮੁਗਧ ਮਨ ਅੰਤਤ ਗਇਆ ਪਛਤੁਾਵਹੇ ॥ Clinging to pride, you shall depart, O foolish mind, and in the end, you shall regret and repent. ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਤਤਸਨਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਲਗਾ ਤਬਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਵਹੇ ॥ You are afflicted with the diseases of ego and desire, and you are wasting your life away in vain.

8.4 Million

ਅੰਡਜ ਜੇਰਜ ਸੇਤਜ ਉਤਭੁਜਾ ਪਰਭ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਤਕਰਤਤ ॥ Eggs, wombs, sweat and earth - these are God's workshops of creation.

ਤਕਰਤ ਕਮਾਵਨ ਸਰਬ ਫਲ ਰਵੀਐ ਹਤਰ ਤਨਰਤਤ ॥੩॥ It is fruitful for all to practice contemplation of the Lord. ||3||

ਹਮ ਤੇ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਵਨਾ ਸਰਤਣ ਪਰਭ ਸਾਧ ॥ I cannot do anything; O God, I seek the Sanctuary of the Holy.

ਮੋਹ ਮਗਨ ਕੂਪ ਅੰਧ ਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਕਾਢ ॥੪॥੩੦॥੬੦॥ Guru Nanak pulled me up, out of the deep, dark pit, the intoxication of

attachment. ||4||30||60|

ਜਜੈ ਜੋਤਤ ਤਹਤਰ ਲਈ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੂੜੇ ਅੰਤਤ ਗਇਆ ਪਛੁਤਾਵਤਹਗਾ ॥ Jajja: You have been robbed of your Light, you fool; in the end, you shall have to depart, and you shall regret and repent.

ਏਕੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਤੂੰ ਚੀਨਤਹ ਨਾਹੀ ਤਫਤਰ ਤਫਤਰ ਜੂਨੀ ਆਵਤਹਗਾ ॥੪॥ You have not remembered the One Word of the Shabad, and so you shall have to enter the womb over and over again. ||4||

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮ ੁਸਲਾਤਹ ਤੂ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ O servant Nanak, praise the Naam; the pains of birth and death shall come to an end. ||1||

You have no power

ਆਖਤਣ ਜੋਰੁ ਚੁਪੈ ਨਹ ਜੋਰੁ ॥ आखणि जोरु चुपै नह जोरु ॥

No power to speak, no power to keep silent.

ਜੋਰੁ ਨ ਮੰਗਤਣ ਦੇਤਣ ਨ ਜੋਰੁ ॥ जोरु न मगंणि देणि न जोरु ॥

No power to beg, no power to give.

ਜੋਰੁ ਨ ਜੀਵਤਣ ਮਰਤਣ ਨਹ ਜੋਰੁ ॥ जोरु न जीवणि मरणि नह जोरु ॥

No power to live, no power to die.

ਜੋਰੁ ਨ ਰਾਤਜ ਮਾਤਲ ਮਤਨ ਸੋਰੁ ॥ जोरु न राजज मालि मनन सोरु ॥

No power to rule, with wealth and occult mental powers.

ਜੋਰੁ ਨ ਸੁਰਤੀ ਤਗਆਤਨ ਵੀਚਾਤਰ ॥ जोरु न सरुती गगआनन वीचारर ॥

No power to gain intuitive understanding, spiritual wisdom and meditation.

ਜੋਰੁ ਨ ਜੁਗਤੀ ਛੁਟੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥ जोरु न जुगती छुटै ससंारु ॥

No power to find the way to escape from the world.

ਤਜਸੁ ਹਤਥ ਜੋਰੁ ਕਤਰ ਵੇਖੈ ਸੋਇ ॥ जजस ुहगि जोरु करर वेख ैसोइ ॥

He alone has the Power in His Hands. He watches over all.

ਨਾਨਕ ਉਤਮੁ ਨੀਚੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥੩੩॥ नानक उतम ुनीच ुन कोइ ॥३३॥

O Nanak, no one is high or low. ||33||

ਸਚ ਪਉੜੀ ਸਾਚਉ ਮੁਤਖ ਨਾਂਉ ॥ To chant the True Name with one's mouth is the true ladder.

ਜਪ ੁ

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਤਦ ਤਸਮਰਤ ਰਹੈ ਜਾਹੂ ਮਸਤਤਕ ਭਾਗ ॥ By Guru's Grace, one who has such good destiny written on his forehead remembers the Lord in meditation.

ਇਕ ਦ ੂਜੀਭ ੌਲਖ ਹੋਤਹ ਲਖ ਹੋਵਤਹ ਲਖ ਵੀਸ ॥

If I had 100,000 tongues, and these were then multiplied twenty times more, with each tongue,

ਲਖੁ ਲਖੁ ਗੇੜਾ ਆਖੀਅਤਹ ਏਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਗਦੀਸ ॥

I would repeat, hundreds of thousands of times, the Name of the One, the Lord of the Universe.

ਏਤ ੁਰਾਤਹ ਪਤਤ ਪਵੜੀਆ ਚੜੀਐ ਹੋਇ ਇਕੀਸ ॥

Along this path to our Husband Lord, we climb the steps of the ladder, and come to merge with Him.

ਸੁਤਣ ਗਲਾ ਆਕਾਸ ਕੀ ਕੀਟਾ ਆਈ ਰੀਸ ॥

Hearing of the etheric realms, even worms long to come back home.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਕੂੜੀ ਕੂੜੈ ਠੀਸ ॥੩੨॥

O Nanak, by His Grace He is obtained. False are the boastings of the false. ||32||

ਗਾਵੈ ਕੋ ਤਾਣੁ ਹਵੋ ੈਤਕਸੈ ਤਾਣੁ ॥ Some sing of His Power-who has that Power?

ਗਾਵੈ ਕੋ ਦਾਤਤ ਜਾਣੈ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ॥ Some sing of His Gifts, and know His Sign and Insignia.

ਗਾਵੈ ਕੋ ਗੁਣ ਵਤਡਆਈਆ ਚਾਰ ॥ Some sing of His Glorious Virtues, Greatness and Beauty.

ਗਾਵੈ ਕੋ ਤਵਤਦਆ ਤਵਖਮੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ Some sing of knowledge obtained of Him, through difficult philosophical studies.

ਗਾਵੈ ਕੋ ਸਾਤਜ ਕਰੇ ਤਨੁ ਖੇਹ ॥ Some sing that He fashions the body, and then again reduces it to dust.

ਗਾਵੈ ਕੋ ਜੀਅ ਲੈ ਤਫਤਰ ਦੇਹ ॥ Some sing that He takes life away, and then again restores it.

ਗਾਵੈ ਕੋ ਜਾਪੈ ਤਦਸੈ ਦੂਤਰ ॥ Some sing that He seems so very far away.

ਗਾਵੈ ਕੋ ਵਖੇੈ ਹਾਦਰਾ ਹਦੂਤਰ ॥ Some sing that He watches over us, face to face, ever-present.

ਕਥਨਾ ਕਥੀ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਤੋਤਟ ॥ There is no shortage of those who preach and teach.

ਕਤਥ ਕਤਥ ਕਥੀ ਕੋਟੀ ਕੋਤਟ ਕਤੋਟ ॥ Millions upon millions offer millions of sermons and stories.

ਦੇਦਾ ਦੇ ਲੈਦੇ ਥਤਕ ਪਾਤਹ ॥ The Great Giver keeps on giving, while those who receive grow weary of receiving.

ਜੁਗਾ ਜਗੰੁਤਤਰ ਖਾਹੀ ਖਾਤਹ ॥ Throughout the ages, consumers consume.

ਹੁਕਮੀ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਚਲਾਏ ਰਾਹੁ ॥ The Commander, by His Command, leads us to walk on the Path.

ਨਾਨਕ ਤਵਗਸੈ ਵਪੇਰਵਾਹੁ ॥੩॥ O Nanak, He blossoms forth, Carefree and Untroubled. ||3||

ਥਾਤਪਆ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਕੀਤਾ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥ He cannot be established, He cannot be created.

ਆਪੇ ਆਤਪ ਤਨਰੰਜਨੁ ਸੋਇ ॥ He Himself is Immaculate and Pure.

ਤਜਤਨ ਸੇਤਵਆ ਤਤਤਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ Those who serve Him are honored.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗਾਵੀਐ ਗੁਣੀ ਤਨਧਾਨੁ ॥ O Nanak, sing of the Lord, the Treasure of Excellence.

ਗਾਵੀਐ ਸੁਣੀਐ ਮਤਨ ਰਖੀਐ ਭਾਉ ॥ Sing, and listen, and let your mind be filled with love.

ਦੁਖੁ ਪਰਹਤਰ ਸੁਖੁ ਘਤਰ ਲੈ ਜਾਇ ॥ Your pain shall be sent far away, and peace shall come to your home.

ਗੁਰਮੁਤਖ ਨਾਦੰ ਗੁਰਮੁਤਖ ਵੇਦੰ ਗੁਰਮੁਤਖ ਰਤਹਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥ The Guru's Word is the Sound-current of the Naad; the Guru's Word is the Wisdom of the Vedas; the Guru's Word is all-pervading.
