law of God.• Jesus said in Matthew 5:22 "But I say to you that everyone

who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, 'You good-for-nothing,' shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, 'You fool,' shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell.

Worship

• Carol McLeod said, “One of most refreshing daily exercises that you will ever participate in is the choice to spend time in worship. It is of vital importance that you understand that the time spent in sheer worship is going to enable you to withstand the storms of life.”

• Not one use of “worship” in Leviticus • Not one use of “understand” in Leviticus • Leviticus is more about “approaching” God “coming

near/ before, into the tabernacle,” come before the LORD, come forth [Leviticus 16:1, 22:3

• Leviticus 6:30 'But no sin offering of which any of the blood is brought into the tent of meeting to make atonement in the holy place shall be eaten; it shall be burned with fire.

• This word, “atonement,” is one of the most important words in Leviticus. The “covering” required to approach an infinitely holy God. There is only covering, blood, one way (John14:6, Isaiah 6:5, 59:2 “burned with fire”).

• Hebrews 9:22 And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

• 1/2 of all NAS uses of this word are in Leviticus (45/88), 3X’s as much as any other book (Numbers has 15). There are no NT, NAS, uses of this word (1ea. KJV, Rom 5:11, 1ea. NIV Hebrews 9:5).

be accepted…will bear his own iniquity• Matthew 27:50 And Jesus …yielded up His spirit…. 57 When it

was evening…58 This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered it to be given to him. 59 And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth…

• Leviticus 7:30 'His own hands are to bring offerings by fire to the LORD. He shall bring the fat with the breast, that the breast may be presented as a wave offering before the LORD.

• This phrase, “before the LORD,” is profoundly important in Leviticus. The requirements to approach an infinitely holy God (face to face, toward the face of, in front of). There is only one way (John14:6, Isaiah 6:5, 59:2).

• !/4 of all NAS uses of this phrase are in Leviticus (59/259), twice as much as any other book.

• Leviticus 7:30 'His own hands are to bring offerings by fire to the LORD. He shall bring the fat with the breast, that the breast may be presented as a wave offering before the LORD.

• Bible Knowledge Commentary says, “…The breast of the fellowship offering was to be waved before the Lord as a wave offering. Jewish scholars interpreted this as a sideways action, dedicating the offering to the Lord. On the other hand they regarded the “heave offering” (kjv; niv translates contribution, v. 32, and regular share, v. 34) of the right thigh (v. 32) as an up-and-down motion…”

“a good thought” In Closing

• Leo Tolstoy said, “We regret losing a purse full of money, but a good thought which has come to us, which we’ve heard or read, a thought which we should have remembered and applied to our life, which could have improved the world- we lose this thought and promptly forget about it, and we do not regret it, though it is more precious than millions.”

• If this is true of “a good thought”, how much more so concerning missed evangelism opportunities?

• We should regret folks losing heaven and Jesus!
