LUKE 5:1-11

Luk 5:1 Now it came to pass, while the multitude pressed upon him and heard the word of God, that he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret;

Luk 5:2 and he saw two boats standing by the lake: but the fishermen had gone out of them, and were washing their nets.

Luk 5:3 And he entered into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the multitudes out of the boat.

Luk 5:4 And when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

Luk 5:5 And Simon answered and said, Master, we toiled all night, and took nothing: but at thy word I will let down the nets.

Luk 5:6 And when they had done this, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes; and their nets were breaking;

Luk 5:7 and they beckoned unto their partners in the other boat, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.

Luk 5:8 But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

Luk 5:9 For he was amazed, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken;

Luk 5:10 and so were also James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.

Luk 5:11 And when they had brought their boats to land, they left all, and followed him.

HOW TO LIVE A BLESSED LIFE?

A. CHOOSE TO LIVE IN A PLACE OF BLESSING


1. A Place of Obedience


Luk 5:3 And he entered into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the multitudes out of the boat.




Deu 28:1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of Jehovah thy God, to observe to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that Jehovah thy God will set thee on high above all the nations of the earth:


Deu 28:2 and all these blessings shall come upon thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God.


Deu 28:3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

Deu 28:4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy beasts, the increase of thy cattle, and the young of thy flock.


Deu 28:5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy kneading-trough.

Deu 28:6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

Joh 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

Joh 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.


Joh 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.



B. REMAIN IN YOUR GOD GIVEN PURPOSE


Luk 5:10 and so were also James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.


Mat 4:18 And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brethren, Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishers.

Mat 4:21 And going on from thence he saw two other brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.

Joh 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also come with thee. They went forth, and entered into the boat; and that night they took nothing.


Joh 21:4 But when day was now breaking, Jesus stood on the beach: yet the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.


Joh 21:5 Jesus therefore saith unto them, Children, have ye aught to eat? They answered him, No.


Joh 21:6 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.




C. MAKE THE WORDS OF GOD BE THE FINAL AUTHORITY OF YOUR LIFE




Luk 5:5 And Simon answered and said, Master, we toiled all night, and took nothing: but at thy word I will let down the nets.

Jos 1:7 Only be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest have good success whithersoever thou goest.


Jos 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate thereon day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.


Mat 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.





D. BE A CHANNEL OF BLESSING
